Becoming the Terminally-Ill Villain Who Torments His Disciples - Chapter 10.1
“…Oscar?”
“We’re going back to the west tower now, right?”
Oscar looked at Cielo with eyes full of suspicion, wondering if this was just an excuse to leave him behind at the clinic.
But to Cielo, Oscar’s expression only looked like that of a child seeking attention.
Overwhelmed with a wave of emotion, Cielo clutched his chest.
‘So cute…’
Suppressing the words that almost slipped out, Cielo extended a hand toward Oscar.
“Of course. Shall we go now?”
Then Oscar naturally took Cielo’s hand.
As Cielo turned around with a bright smile,
“Wait, Cielo.”
Ryan grabbed his other hand.
“Uh, ah, so… you said you’d be at the west tower, right?”
“Yes? Yes.”
“…Can I come visit?”
At Ryan’s question, Cielo rolled his eyes.
They had reconciled, but did they really need to get that close again? Ryan, however, seemed eager to become as close as they once were.
‘I’m not the Cielo that person wants.’
What would happen if he just said honestly, ‘I’m actually not the Cielo you know. So please don’t try to be friends with me’?
Would Ryan believe him? More likely, he’d think Cielo was just drawing a line because he didn’t want to get too close.
“You’re free to come. I don’t mind you approaching to rebuild our relationship. But…”
“…?”
“I’m probably not the person you remember.”
As he finished speaking, he slipped his hand free.
Ryan let go of his wrist more easily than expected.
“Well then, we’ll be going.”
Cielo adjusted his grip on Oscar’s hand and left the clinic.
Because of that, he didn’t see it.
Oscar, repeatedly glancing back at Ryan and glaring at him until he was out of sight.
* * *
Since that day, Ryan began visiting the west tower every day.
He would even bring food and books for Oscar to read.
Cielo looked at Ryan with sparkling eyes.
“…You’re a good person.”
At those words, Ryan, who had been handing bread to Oscar, made a dumbfounded face.
“Have I ever done anything to seem like a bad person to you?”
At that, Cielo looked away.
All he knew were the memories of how their relationship had fallen apart. Of what Ryan had done or how others viewed him, Cielo had no idea.
“I don’t really remember, so I’m not sure.”
“If you weren’t interested, I guess that’s possible. I hate to say it myself, but I’ve never done anything bad in my life… probably.”
Ryan had been speaking confidently, but memories with Cielo seemed to catch up with him, and he added “probably” at the end.
Cielo let out a soft chuckle and handed Ryan one of the pieces of bread he had brought.
“Don’t just give it to us. You should have some too.”
“Can I eat it?”
“You brought it. Why are you asking for my permission?”
“Well, I gave it to you. So now it belongs to you, right?”
As he finished, Ryan smiled brightly.
At that moment, Cielo felt a strange drop in his chest as if his heart had just thudded hard, and placed a hand on it.
‘What was that just now?’
He blinked, and Ryan quickly approached with concern.
“Are you sick?”
“Huh? Oh, no. I’m not sick, it’s just…”
Cielo tilted his head.
But it wasn’t just that one day.
Whenever something popped up suddenly and startled him, Ryan’s hand would catch his waist.
When Ryan smiled with his eyes during conversation.
Every time his heart pounded, Cielo would tilt his head in confusion.
Even when Ryan wasn’t around, his heart sometimes beat oddly.
‘What is this? It’s not like I like him or anything.’
His face didn’t even feel flushed.
He tilted his head every time that strange feeling washed over him, but he never figured it out.
One thing was clear after accepting Ryan’s apology, Cielo and Ryan were becoming much closer than expected.
Of course, not everything went smoothly.
“You don’t remember?”
Because Cielo didn’t remember a single shared memory that only the two of them should have known.
