Becoming the Terminally-Ill Villain Who Torments His Disciples - Chapter 10.2
At first, Ryan had accepted it as “You must’ve hated me enough to forget everything.” But as time passed, he started to ask, “…Are you really okay?”
Wondering how to avoid Ryan’s suspicion, Cielo eventually ended up lying.
“Actually, ever since I was hit by His Highness the Crown Prince, my memory has been a little… no, quite confused.”
Telling the lie made his conscience ache, but there was no better excuse. Of course, that lie ended up making the Crown Prince out to be a bad guy… but the Eli in Cielo’s memory really was a bad guy.
Either way, that statement made Ryan grab Cielo’s hand with a face full of concern.
“Any signs your memory’s coming back? …No, wait, never mind. Maybe it’s better to forget what you can. So that’s why I felt you’d changed lately.”
Cielo let Ryan continue with his misunderstanding. If it worked out well, then why not?
But from that day on, Ryan began treating Cielo even more preciously—like a treasure. Every day he checked if Cielo’s memory had returned, or if anything felt uncomfortable or hurt.
“If all the memories from when we were kids are gone, then we can just make new ones starting now. I want you to look back someday and remember the good times we had together.”
It was a ticklish, sentimental line that made it clear Ryan was speaking from the heart.
And yet, part of Cielo felt uncomfortable.
‘…But I’m not really Cielo.’
The person Ryan wanted to pour his heart into was not “Lee Eunwoo,” but the real “Cielo.” The thought that he might be taking something that rightfully belonged to someone else crossed his mind.
Of course, had it not been for his own decision to forgive Ryan, the relationship between Cielo and Ryan would never have been restored.
He knew that, but still…
‘Maybe I’m just being ungrateful.’
If he hadn’t remembered his past life, he wouldn’t be having this kind of dilemma at all.
That thought came to mind, but Cielo shook his head. Without those memories, he wouldn’t have known how to love Oscar properly either.
“Cielo! A few bunches of grapes came into the clinic. I remembered how much you liked them, so I brought some.”
While Cielo was caught up in his thoughts, Ryan came running to the west tower once again, holding a fruit basket.
Seeing Ryan rush over when it was close enough to walk made Cielo burst into laughter without realizing.
“What’s so funny?”
“Oh, just… you kind of looked like a dog just now.”
“…Huh? What do you mean… a dog?”
“No, I mean—like a puppy. You were cute. It was a compliment.”
Ryan widened his eyes at Cielo’s words. Then, the tips of his ears turned red, and he bent slightly at the waist before saying, “They say puppies like being petted,” and leaned his head toward him.
“…You’re not an actual puppy, you know. Do you realize how ridiculous you’re being?”
“Yeah. That’s why I brought a gift, too.”
What an incorrigibly sly man. Cielo clicked his tongue in disbelief but reached out to gently pat Ryan on the head anyway.
Then Ryan plucked off a grape and popped it right into Cielo’s mouth.
“It’s good.”
As he picked another grape, thinking he wanted to eat more, Ryan opened his mouth and said, “Ahh—.”
The obvious signal to be fed made Cielo just stare at him blankly, then he shoved the grape into his own mouth.
“You have hands. Peel it yourself.”
“…So cold.”
“How dramatic.”
Cielo responded and then looked around for Oscar. The grapes were delicious, and he wanted to feed him some too.
“…Oscar?”
But Oscar was nowhere to be seen. He called his name from deeper within the tower, but there was no reply.
‘Where did he go?’
Cielo climbed the tower’s staircases in search of Oscar.
But on each floor, only the prisoners glared at him—there was no sign of Oscar anywhere.
“Where the heck did he—”
“Master! Master!”
Just then, a loud voice came from the first floor.
Peeking his head over the railing, Cielo’s eyes widened in shock.
Oscar had suddenly reappeared—and his body was splattered with blood in several places.
“Oscar!”
Cielo rushed down the stairs and checked Oscar’s body. Fortunately, he didn’t seem to be hurt.
Just as Cielo let out a sigh of relief, Oscar spoke.
“Th-there’s a person… someone is dying!”
