Wrong Genre! - Chapter 3.2
“What kind of bet did those two make that I now have to come wake him up at this hour? Isn’t waking him supposed to be the butler’s job? If you’re going to run away so irresponsibly, you should at least write down the exact reason.”
Mumble, mumble.
Rueg, who was pouting his lips and mumbling in a tiny voice that no one could possibly hear, stood in front of Felix’s bedroom and pulled up the corners of his lips with his fingers.
“Well, there’s nothing I can do. He’s the Master, after all.”
Master of Money.
With an expression that looked kind and agreeable, Rueg armed himself and gave a light knock as he spoke up.
“Your Imperial Highness the Crown Prince, it’s Verdic. It’s time to go for your morning duties.”
But today, for some reason, there was no answer.
Thinking maybe Felix was in a deep sleep, Rueg brought his lips right up to the door and spoke again.
“Your Highness… it’s time to wake uuup…”
If I do it like this, he should definitely hear me. Still, there wasn’t a single sign of life.
“Haa…”
It was already hard enough having to work in his sister’s place. Why did the world have to give him trials like this, too?
Letting out a long sigh, Rueg said shortly, “I’m coming in,” then opened the bedroom door.
The moment he did, the wave of warmth that rushed over him made Rueg’s eyes go wide. As expected, the imperial palace really is overflowing with money, he thought as he glanced at the fireplace…
‘It’s not even lit…?’
Then why is it so warm?
Rueg, who was staring at the fireplace full of questions, finally snapped out of it and turned his head.
What he saw was Felix lying on a bed easily twice the size of the one Rueg used.
Even from a distance, he was someone whose beauty was unrivaled. Hair so dark it seemed to hold a deeper night than the midnight sky. When he opened his eyes, they’d reveal irises like the world’s most vivid red gemstones.
Unlike the novel, the moment he opened his mouth, he’d always bring disaster upon Rueg… but still, he really was incredibly handsome.
Gulping, Rueg unconsciously moistened his lips with his tongue as he quietly stared at Felix’s face.
“Seriously, every time I see him, I understand why Versha fell for him…”
As he muttered those words, Rueg hurriedly slapped his own cheek. Smack! His cheek stung, but that wasn’t what mattered right now.
‘…That was close. I almost got into trouble.’
They say truly beautiful people can enchant others regardless of gender. Felix was exactly like that.
“Get it together, Rueg Verdic.”
Whispering to himself, he started to approach Felix, then stopped in his tracks.
He was so breathtakingly handsome, Rueg felt like he’d suffocate just looking from afar. If he got any closer, he’d probably end up staring at Felix in a daze again.
“Y-Your Highness, please wake up!”
In the end, Rueg decided to take a bold approach.
He rushed to the window, yanked the curtains off the terrace aside, and shouted at Felix in a loud voice.
“Wake up, Your Highness!”
At Rueg’s thunderous voice, Felix, who had been sleeping like a statue, frowned.
“What are you doing…?”
How can someone’s voice sound that good just after waking up?
For a moment, Rueg found himself staring blankly again before snapping out of it and hurrying to the bed.
“It’s time to wake up, Your Highness.”
Though his actions had been anything but dignified, the words that came out of his mouth were nothing but polite.
Felix, shielding his eyes from the sunlight coming in through the window, blinked repeatedly as if he still hadn’t woken up.
“…I’m tired.”
“Even if you’re tired, you still have to get up. There’s a mountain of work piled up, isn’t there?”
“And whose fault is that?”
“Uh, well, I, ummm… I-It’s pretty much my fault, but… I’ll do well today. I really mean it!”
Hearing Rueg’s embarrassed words, Felix let out a soft laugh.
As Rueg stared at that beautiful smile in disbelief, Felix reached a hand out toward him.
A large hand grabbed Rueg’s wrist, and then with a strong pull, dragged him in.
“Hu…uuuuhh?”
No matter how much he tried to resist, Rueg ended up tumbling onto Felix’s bed.
Felix immediately wrapped an arm around Rueg’s waist, pulling him into his embrace as if to trap him there.
“…Y-Your Highness?”
“Just a little longer… Let’s just sleep a little more.”
“But, no, I… Please, let me— let me go…!”
As Rueg tried to push against Felix’s chest, Felix frowned and looked down at him.
“Don’t stutter.”
“When did I ever stu…! No, just let me go!”
“If you don’t quiet down right now, I don’t know what I’ll have to do to shut that mouth of yours.”
At Felix’s chilling voice, Rueg swallowed dryly.
When he glanced up, Felix’s eyes were fixed on Rueg’s lips.
“W-What are you saying?!”
Rueg shouted, but Felix just let out a low laugh.
It really did seem like this Crown Prince had found it fun to tease him.
