“Dylan…”

I looked at the two of them, so apparently close, with confused eyes.

‘He’s supposed to be ashamed of his days as Edith’s attendant! Isn’t this way too glorified, even for a dream?’

But for a dream, wasn’t it all too vivid and detailed?

Just then.

Thuk!

Suddenly, the door opened and someone entered the greenhouse.

“Uh… I-I’m sorry! I heard Dylan was here, so…”

It was a face I hadn’t seen since possessing this body.

But I immediately recognized her.

Soft, light brown hair. Big, green eyes like a deer. A kind, pretty face.

‘The female lead…!’

It was Llewellyn.

Naturally, Edith, who disliked her, reacted harshly.

“What are you doing here? Why are you here?”

“I-I came to purify Sir Ethan. And I thought I might need to do it for Dylan as well…”

“……!”

At those words, Edith bit her lip and trembled.

Jealousy, anger, a sense of defeat, and emptiness.

All directed at Llewellyn, who possessed a power she could never have.

Every emotion was written plainly on her face.

Llewellyn, looking awkwardly at Edith, then shifted her gaze to Dylan, who was still kneeling.

“But Dylan, at the last victory banquet, Madam Frederick asked me to pass on a message to you.”

“……”

“I thought I should at least let you know…”

“…Alright.”

At that, Dylan reluctantly stood up.

Edith grabbed his sleeve.

“Where are you going? Don’t go, Dylan.”

“I’ll be back soon, my lady.”

“I told you not to go. Don’t you ever want to see me again?!”

Despite Edith’s fierce threat, Dylan simply and gently removed her hand, giving her no answer.

“I’ll bring Nancy here. Please return to your room.”

“Dylan!”

“……”

“Dylan—!”

Even as Edith’s desperate voice echoed after his receding figure, he never looked back.

Blink.

The scene changed.

Not much else was different.

It was still the greenhouse at the ducal mansion.

“…What? What did you just say?”

Edith, standing upright, glared venomously at the man in front of her.

When I saw who she was facing, my eyes widened.

The boy in shabby clothes had become the mature Dylan I now knew, Male Lead #3.

Red hair slicked back, wearing a sharp uniform.

Not a trace remained of the pretty boy attendant.

“I said I plan to propose to Llewellyn.”

Dylan declared, his face cold.

Edith was dumbstruck.

“You… Are you crazy?”

“No. I am perfectly sane.”

“Hah!”

Edith let out a bitter laugh, then suddenly exploded.

“You said you’d be right back! That you’d never betray me! Is this what you meant by loyalty?!”

“It was the decision of the family. There’s nothing I can do.”

“Don’t make me laugh! Since when did you become a man of the count’s house? You were just my attendant until three years ago!”

“…Edith.”

“Call me ‘my lady’! I picked you up off the street, gave you food and a place to sleep, and now that you’ve awakened—!”

“This is exactly why!”

At that moment, Dylan, who had been listening silently, suddenly cut her off loudly.

“This is exactly why I never wanted to come back. Because you look down on people and treat them as if they’re nothing!”

“What…”

“Do you even know that ‘Dylan’ is the name of a famous gigolo who entertains noblewomen? Did you give me that name on purpose?”

Startled by the sudden question, Edith’s shoulders flinched.

“N-No! I-I really didn’t know! Why would I ever—!”

“How should I know? How could a discarded bastard who lived begging on the streets ever guess at the grand designs of a noble young lady like yourself?”

“Dylan!”

“Please, don’t order me around like this anymore.”

He delivered his cold verdict to his flustered former master.

“This will be the last time I ever come to the ducal mansion, Edith. No—”

“……”

“Lady Blake.”

Edith’s face gradually blurred as she watched his retreating back, unable to bring herself to stop him.

Her frail figure trembled helplessly, blue eyes shimmering with tears.

She looked like a lost child who’d just lost her mother…

.

.

.

“What a bastard!”

Shuddering at Dylan’s two-faced nature, I snapped awake.
