A World Where You All Are The Villains - Chapter 27.2
“Serge Belnac.”
The Grand Duke of the North.
The Emperor’s half-brother, and the man who seized imperial power while the Emperor was bedridden.
An S-Class Awakener who commands the ability to manipulate gravity.
Besides that, he’s been called the Mad Dog of Carnage, the Devil Incarnate, the Gate Butcher, the Monster Slayer, and so on…
Maybe because he’s the final male lead to appear, the author seemed to want him to leave an impact, piling on all kinds of attributes for Male Lead #4.
The reason he’s called the ‘Mad Dog of Carnage’, as the butler mentioned, is because of his personality.
「 Owner of jet-black hair and eyes reminiscent of miasma,
Serge Belnac was a devilish man, devoid of blood and tears.
Ostracized and abused from childhood due to his unusual appearance, he grew up a cold-blooded man who did not know emotion.
And when he awakened the ability to manipulate gravity freely at age fourteen, he was immediately sent to fight in large-scale Gates.
After subduing countless Gates, his feats were recognized and he rose to the rank of Grand Duke.
But Serge’s notoriety only grew, due to his chilling tendency to annihilate all living things nearby during battle, be it enemy or ally.
Then one day, after using his ability to the point of nearly losing control, he was coincidentally purified by the female lead, who was visiting the North.
Upon learning she would stay at the imperial palace, he began to harbor ambitions of swallowing the palace whole… 」
To summarize, it’s your classic ‘monster who knew nothing of emotion learns love after meeting the female lead’ story.
Whether Male Lead #4 learned love or whatever else, it didn’t matter to me.
The important part was that he now suspected me as being involved in Llewellyn’s disappearance.
And because I hadn’t died like in the novel, I was being dragged into this damned banquet episode as Villain #1…
“…Wait.”
Just then, a realization dawned on me.
I widened my eyes and muttered,
“This… This is just like the novel.”
That’s right. After Edith’s death, the next part of the story is a imperial banquet hosted by Male Lead #4.
Which meant that, for the first time since I transmigrated here, events were unfolding exactly as in the novel!
‘Maybe this isn’t so bad.’
In the novel, this banquet is practically the big dramatic reunion scene for Male Lead #4 and the female lead.
So, there’s no way the reclusive female lead won’t show up.
“Right. First, I need to attend and clear up any suspicions about me.”
It always bothered me that the female lead disappeared right after I transmigrated into this place.
And after constantly being caught in situations not found in the original story, my nerves were frayed.
‘I need to see with my own eyes that the damned plot is still on track.’
And after that, I could finally start looking for a way out.
Whether that meant escaping my role as a villain, or escaping this house entirely.

The day of the banquet.
In the novel, there were endless descriptions of the commoner female lead getting transformed by the palace maids for the banquet. Scrubbing, polishing, masks, makeup, and on and on…
Anyway, the point was that after all that, she became an incredible beauty.
‘So why am I the one being put through all this when I’m not even the female lead?’
Dragged out of bed at the crack of dawn, I was being manhandled by the maids.
And surprisingly, the one orchestrating everything was the butler.
“Alright, alright! Next: one hair removal cream, two natural gypsum face packs, one bottle of argan oil. Let’s move!”
“Yes, sir!”
At his orders, the maids scattered in perfect formation.
Lying on the massage bed in a robe, exhausted, I asked,
“…Butler. Is all this really necessary?”
“Of course, miss! You’re practically the star of today’s event…!”
“How am I the star? It’s the host’s event, not mine.”
“Ahem. W-Well, that’s true, but… Oh! There’s no time for this!”
The butler suddenly dashed out of the powder room.
He returned not long after, carrying a large velvet box in his arms.
“Milady, please take a look at this.”
“What is it?”
Click.
With an oddly excited expression, the butler undid the lock and opened the box.
When I looked inside, my eyes widened in surprise.
Blue jewels, the same color as my eyes, shimmered like sunlight sparkling on the ocean.
And that wasn’t the only surprise.
“For tonight’s banquet, the Duke purchased this accessory set just for you.”
“Father did…?”
