A World Where You All Are The Villains - Chapter 52.2
Grinning, he spewed foul breath as he sneered.
“But that voice of yours sounds kinda delicate… like a woman, doesn’t it?”
“Get lost!”
At the same time, his rough hand yanked my hood back.
Before I could stop him, my face was fully exposed.
“Knew it! Damn, what a beauty.”
“If you were a noble miss, you should’ve said so from the start! Then we would’ve, uh, y’know, treated you ‘jet’. Real jet!”
“‘Gentle’, you idiot!”
The moment they saw my face, Tattooed Man #2 and 3’s eyes gleamed.
I weighed whether it was better to spray the perfume or smash the bottle.
Then Tattooed Man #1 said something that made my ears prick.
“Hold on. You remember that one woman, right? The so-called Purifier from the capital. She came every month to play the shill for them real well.”
My eyes flew wide.
Because I knew that story all too well.
‘The female lead… was working as a shill for a scam group? Not coming here to buy information?’
My mind swirled in confusion.
But I had no time to process it.
The three men had suddenly dropped their smirks, staring at me with strange expressions.
“Miss… could it be… you’re the Purifier?”
“No.”
I denied it instantly.
“If you’d seen her, you’d know she looks nothing like me.”
“We never saw her face. She always came wrapped up, just like you.”
Damn it. Nothing was going the way I wanted.
Adjusting my grip on the perfume bottle so I could spray it more easily, I muttered,
“If you let me go now, I’ll be merciful.”
They cackled as if they’d been waiting for that.
“Oooh, so scary! Must be some highborn noble, eh?”
“And if you’re so highborn, how come you’ve only got a one-eyed brat as an escort? That’s suspicious as hell.”
“Lady. Whatever. If you came from the capital, you must have money. Hand over a donation and we’ll let you walk.”
Money was something I could throw at them as much as they wanted.
But if I obediently gave them coin, the next thing they’d demand would obviously be my life.
“What to do? I don’t have any money.”
“Then you’ll have to pay with your body.”
Of course.
As expected, they grinned with vile delight.
“Heh heh… A fat, juicy golden goose just waddled in here, begging us to eat her up.”
“Mmm~ even her hair smells nice. When else would we ever get to touch a noble lady’s hand?”
Grab.
Suddenly, Tattooed Man #2 snatched the hand I hadn’t stuffed in my pocket.
A shiver ran through me as his filthy fingers stroked across the back of my hand.
I couldn’t stand it anymore.
I immediately whipped out the perfume bottle and sprayed it straight into his face.
Ssshhhhh!
“Aaaagh! My eyes!”
Just as Eston had promised, the effect was instant.
The man shrieked like a pig being slaughtered, clutching his face as he writhed on the ground.
The other two froze in shock at the sudden turn of events.
“Wh-What the…?!”
“J-Jackson!”
Originally, my plan had been to smash the bottle right after.
But then.
“You crazy bitch!”
Tattooed Man #1 suddenly raised his hand high, and I froze.
Though it wasn’t the time for such things, his hulking figure overlapped with someone from my past.
Foolishly, I squeezed my eyes shut on reflex.
‘I’m going to get hit…!’
Tensing my neck and bracing for the pain.
Fwooooshhh!
“Gyaaaaaah!”
Suddenly, scorching heat and a horrific scream filled the alley.
My eyes snapped open.
What I saw was Tattooed Man #1, his hand engulfed in flames as he flailed, while Tattooed Man #3 had collapsed to the ground, wetting himself.
And then.
Step. Step.
Heavy footsteps echoed, cutting through the scene.
“As I thought. My eyes did not deceive me.”
“……”
“What in the world are you doing here?”
Like blazing fire incarnate, Dylan Frederick strode forward, his face twisted with fury as he fixed his gaze on me.
