As If Transmigrating Wasn’t Enough, I’m Pregnant?! - Chapter 1.1
The unfamiliar pattern on the ceiling came into view through his blurry vision. Ryu Hae-sol—or rather, Moon Seong-yoon, whose consciousness now inhabited his body—was about to sit up, his head throbbing with pain, when he froze at the firm, hot sensation wrapped snugly around him.
A strong arm that wasn’t his own was wrapped around his waist, and smooth, warm skin was pressed directly against his back.
All memories of having fallen asleep alone the previous night had vanished without a trace. Feeling as though his heart had plummeted to the ground, he slowly, very slowly, turned his head.
What came into view was the face of an unfamiliar man. A sculpted nose, tightly closed lips, and thick eyebrows. His jet-black hair was spread across the snow-white pillow.
He was so unrealistically beautiful that he could have been carved from a statue, but unfortunately, right now, he was nothing more than a source of terror.
To make matters worse, neither of them was wearing a single stitch of clothing. Feeling the man’s legs tangled with his own beneath the covers, Moon Seong-yoon barely managed to stifle the scream threatening to burst from his throat.
Almost reflexively, he shoved the man’s arm away and scrambled backward toward the corner of the bed. He gathered the thin blanket around himself to cover his body, but goosebumps had already spread across his skin.
It was as though his mind had gone completely blank, leaving him unable to think of anything.
Where am I? Who is this man? What on earth happened last night?
Countless questions crashed over him like a storm, but there was no one to answer them. Only his ragged breathing drifted precariously through the room, where silence had settled like a heavy veil.
“W-Who… Who are you? Where… Where on earth am I?”
His voice was hoarse and trembling uncontrollably. He glared at the man with eyes full of suspicion. Yet the man remained completely motionless, still sound asleep.
Looking at his peaceful face, Moon Seong-yoon felt an inexplicable sense of injustice and anger well up inside him.
His memories of the previous night were scattered like fragments, and he couldn’t recall a thing. He had returned home and gone to sleep after a company dinner… and he couldn’t remember anything after that. Please, please, let me not have done something stupid.
Moon Seong-yoon clutched the blanket tightly with trembling hands, desperately praying that the man wouldn’t wake up. He had to find a way out of this horrifying situation.
In the room, where the only sound was the steady breathing of the unfamiliar man, Moon Seong-yoon could hear his own heart pounding as though it were about to burst. His grip on the blanket tightened until his knuckles nearly turned white. His palms, damp with sweat, almost slipped against the fabric.
He strained every nerve to monitor even the slightest movement of the sleeping man on the bed, trying to slip out without making the slightest sound.
The premium mattress gently absorbed his movements. Even that small detail was enough to make him instinctively realize that this place was different from the world he knew.
As he pulled back the blanket, cold air brushed against his bare skin. Moon Seong-yoon instinctively shrank in on himself. His waist and pelvis throbbed, as though hinting at the intense activities of the previous night, and every muscle in his body seemed to be screaming in pain.
Somehow, he managed to get both feet onto the floor and stand upright. Beneath his soles was a soft, plush carpet.
With every step he took, the unfamiliar texture pressing between his toes felt strange and alien. Like someone walking across a sheet of thin ice, he cautiously surveyed the room. The sight before him was far beyond anything he could have imagined.
Beyond the floor-to-ceiling windows, the city’s nighttime skyline glittered like scattered jewels.
The room looked exactly like the kind of luxurious hotel suite he had only ever seen in magazines throughout his life. There was an enormous king-sized bed, an elegant leather sofa, a marble table, and even a minibar occupying an entire wall.
Among the clothes strewn haphazardly across the floor, an expensive bottle of champagne lay rolling about. This was a world completely different from the small studio apartment he had lived in before, one that couldn’t even be compared to it.
The air, a mixture of alcohol, the unfamiliar man’s scent, and a sweet citrus fragrance, stung his lungs. His head felt as though it were about to split open.
