‘What should I do?’

The “Lee Eunwoo” who had entered this body forgave the twins according to his own will.

‘If I had known he’d enter this body, I would have asked him whether he planned to forgive his family.’

Since he didn’t know how “Lee Eunwoo’s” thoughts had changed after that, he couldn’t make any decision lightly.

While he stood still, the woman suddenly shouted.

“Are you deaf, you rotten bastard?!”

A barrage of foul curses, hard even to repeat, followed. Just as Eunwoo furrowed his brows, a soju bottle came flying with a yell: “How dare you glare at your own mother!”

He didn’t even think to dodge and simply squeezed his eyes shut—

Clack!

At that moment, someone grabbed Eunwoo’s hand and knocked the bottle away.

Crash!

At the sound of breaking glass, Eunwoo looked up to find a man in black half-embracing him.

“I didn’t think you were the type to disobey instructions so blatantly.”

“……”

“When I said not to get discharged until I came, did you hear that through your nose, Mr. Lee Eunwoo?”

Hearing the voice from above his head, Eunwoo looked up.

Ji Taehyuk, seemingly unbothered by the woman still screaming nearby, firmly shut the door and pulled Eunwoo by the wrist.

“W-Wait a minute…!”

“Why? Do you have business with that house?”

“……”

“Sounded to me like they were going to beat you to death if you went back inside.”

At his words, Eunwoo’s lips parted slightly.

He didn’t know all the details of “Lee Eunwoo’s” family situation, but one thing was clear—if he went back in there just because someone told him to clean up, he’d come out with at least one broken bone.

And if they found out he had been fired from every job due to the accident… if they discovered he had no money to offer… the beatings would only get worse.

In the end, giving up on returning to the house, Eunwoo followed Taehyuk and asked,

“…What brings you all the way here? I clearly told you to just pass along my thanks.”

“Do you think I came all the way here just to hear a thank-you?”

“Then why did you come?”

Was it because no one else had ever shown him such concern? Or was he really just that oblivious, asking the question without realizing the obvious?

This man—so out of touch with the modern world that he seemed almost naive. He had said strange things like alphas and omegas, then looked utterly thrilled when he asked, ‘Do those things not exist here?’

If he really was such a fool, maybe he would be easy to manipulate.

Hiding his true thoughts, Taehyuk raised the corners of his lips and said,

“I’d like to make you an offer, Mr. Lee Eunwoo.”

“An offer? What kind of offer?”

“You don’t have a job right now, right? No home, either.”

“I do have a home…”

Eunwoo glanced sideways toward the door, where yelling still continued. Seeing that, Taehyuk grabbed his chin—his expression clearly saying that such a place wasn’t worth calling a ‘home.’

“I’ll give you a job. And a place to stay, too.”

“…Why?”

“Because I can’t just leave a clueless idiot out there alone.”

“……”

“And if it’s because of me that you’ve ended up like this, then I have even more of a responsibility.”

With that, Taehyuk held out his hand to Eunwoo.

Eunwoo looked back and forth between that large hand held out to him and the door where the shouting hadn’t ceased.

He still didn’t know exactly why Ji Taehyuk was showing him such kindness in this way.

But one thing was certain—in this world, just like the world he’d lived in as “Cielo,” no one offered work or shelter without expecting something in return.

“What do you want from me?”

“……”

“I don’t think I can take your hand without knowing the details first.”

At Eunwoo’s words, Taehyuk smiled, as if he hadn’t expected the question. But at the same time, he seemed to find it commendable.

“I can’t sleep well.”

“…?”

“But whenever I see you, I sleep like a baby afterward.”

It was as if he was simply asking Eunwoo to help him sleep. As if that was the only thing he wanted.

Eunwoo quietly looked at the hand being offered.

Back in the past, when he had still lived as “Cielo,” he would have easily guessed what those words were really implying and turned away. He hadn’t wanted to get involved with anyone back then.

But now, things were different.

‘I’ll change.’

Now that a new opportunity had come, he would do whatever it took to seize it—and he was determined to survive, no matter how desperately he had to cling.

Just as the “Lee Eunwoo” who now occupied his original body had endured hardship and finally found happiness.

“Then, how should I help you?”
