“What kind of book was written so vaguely?”

Muttering under his breath, Cielo picked up another book. But the information he wanted was nowhere to be found.

“…There’s no record of anyone understanding what a monster says.”

Cielo let out a long sigh.

There were occasional notes labeled sounds of monsters, but they only referred to vocalizations corresponding to different species. There was nothing about monsters communicating meaning or understanding human speech.

“What on earth…”

Just as he frowned, frustrated and clueless—

“If you were curious about monsters, you should’ve come to your brothers, Cielo.”

A chilling voice whispered in his ear. The tone was laced with amusement, and it sent shivers racing down his spine.

Startled, Cielo spun around—and found himself caged in the arms of a man with sky-blue hair.

Bending low to meet his gaze, the curly-haired man smiled, eyes curling with mischief.

“Why do you make your brother come all the way here? So troublesome.”

It was Pielago.

The moment he finished speaking, Pielago grabbed Cielo by the collar.

His grip tightened around Cielo’s throat, and a weight dropped heavy in his chest.

“Lee Eunwoo! You useless bastard—if this is how you’re going to live, you should’ve just died! Get lost, I said get lost!”

A sharp voice cut through his brain like a blade.

Long-buried memories began to stir—things forgotten and hidden away deep in his mind slithered up like snakes, wrapping tightly around his throat.

The memory of that nightmare of a day—the one that made him feel completely alone in the world.

But what tormented Cielo wasn’t only the remnants of a past life.

“Come on, Cielo. Say you’re sorry. Then I’ll stop.”

Even the memories etched into this body began to lash out, tearing through his mind.

“S-Sorry… I’m sorry…”

He mumbled with unfocused eyes, and Pielago gave a short, sharp laugh.

“Sorry?”

“Y-Yes… I… I’m…”

“That’s what you get for ignoring your brothers. We even kindly gave you the location to meet us, and this is how you act?”

Still gripping Cielo by the collar, Pielago shook him violently before slamming him to the ground.

Unable to keep his balance, Cielo collapsed onto the floor, and Pielago crouched down in front of him.

“You’re coming with me, right?”

Thump, thump, thump, thump.

His heart pounded loudly. His mind, clouded with fear and terror, could no longer form rational thoughts.

Why was this fear so overwhelming?

Why were the memories of being tormented by the twins blending with those of his past life as Lee Eunwoo?

There was only one thing he knew for certain—

He couldn’t escape Pielago’s whisper.

“Get up. Come with your brother.”

With those words, Pielago stood up first. But Cielo, paralyzed by fear, couldn’t move.

“I said get up.”

The voice from above was cold. At the same time, a loud warning echoed from deep within his chest—You must not go with him.

“This is your last warning, Cielo. Get up.”

As Pielago’s voice began to drop with iciness, Cielo bit the soft flesh inside his mouth.

He was afraid—but he couldn’t follow.

Even though memories of the past suffocated him, even though fear overwhelmed his lungs, the body’s instincts recoiled from Pielago.

Swallowing his terror, Cielo shook his head and curled in on himself, and Pielago let out a sigh, running a hand through his hair.

“Ha… You really know how to make things exhausting.”

Smack!

Muttering under his breath, Pielago struck Cielo’s head, which was still tucked down and trembling.

“Agh!”

“I was gonna at least give you time to grab a coat, but I guess you forgot everything while staying by that damn mutt’s side.”

“…”

“This is your last warning. Get up and come with me.”

The moment Pielago’s voice dropped again, dizziness crashed over him.

And then—dozens of images flickered through his vision.

Sol, arms crossed, watching with amusement. Pielago kicking Cielo in front of him.

Sometimes it was fists, sometimes it was kicks. Other times, like in the dream, it was needles piercing into him…

“This is a heat stimulant they use at parties. Want to try feeding it to him?”

“…N-No. No! No!”

The true Cielo’s scream echoed loudly in his head.

And that’s when he realized—

The “Cielo” in this world… looked terrifyingly similar to who he had been during the days he was Lee Eunwoo.
