Blink, blink.

Having just woken up, Cielo stared blankly at the ceiling for quite a while.

Right after leaving the villa, he’d felt as if he had stepped out of reality. But the moment he fell asleep and woke up again, the weight of reality came crashing down on him.

‘Was I only able to clear my head because of Ryan…?’

Probably so.

After leaving the villa, Ryan had kept talking to him non-stop. He’d even distracted him with completely unrelated topics, just to keep Sol’s actions from resurfacing in Cielo’s mind.

As he thought of Ryan, Cielo let out a soft laugh and slowly sat up.

“Hm…?”

Just before falling asleep, his entire body had been in pain and yet, strangely, not a single part hurt.

‘No way…’

Cielo swallowed dryly, his eyes darting around.

And sure enough, he locked eyes with Oscar, who was sitting beside the bed in a chair he’d pulled up.

“G-Good morning, Oscar.”

Cielo clamped his mouth shut at the sound of his hoarse voice. If Oscar had been the one to heal him, then he would have known exactly what parts of his body had been injured.

Which meant—it was certain he knew what Cielo had done with Ryan.

“……”

Cielo, now tense, lowered his gaze.

He was scared of what Oscar might say.

Would he accuse him of rejecting him while accepting Ryan? Would he ask whether this was how Cielo meant to push him away?

And if he did… how would Cielo respond?

“I’ve drawn a bath. Would you like to go wash up?”

“…Pardon?”

“I wouldn’t mind washing you myself, though.”

At Oscar’s words, Cielo cautiously looked up. He wondered if Oscar was simply holding back his anger—but it didn’t seem that way.

Cielo opened and closed his mouth, his eyes flickering before he finally asked,

“…You’re not going to ask anything?”

“Ask what?”

“T-That…”

“What you did with Lord Doberman?”

At Oscar’s blunt wording, Cielo’s shoulders gave a small, involuntary shudder. But he didn’t want to hide what had happened. He nodded and opened his mouth.

“I didn’t mean to deceive you. I just…”

Just as he began to speak, Oscar suddenly leaned in close.

He stopped just before their lips touched, as if about to kiss him, and said,

“If you don’t want this—then hit me.”

Smooch.

He placed a brief kiss on Cielo’s lips and pulled away.

Cielo stared up at him in a daze.

But the kiss didn’t end there.

Lips, the tip of his nose, forehead, both cheeks—Oscar kissed various spots across Cielo’s face. And at the end, he hugged him tightly before letting go.

“O-Oscar…?”

“I have no intention of letting you go.”

“……”

“Nor do I plan on giving up how I feel about you.”

Smiling, Oscar gazed at Cielo with affection. It was the same expression Cielo had once directed at him—back when he had watched over Oscar for so long.

“Just know that your all-grown-up disciple still wants your attention.”

It was a promise not to force him.

A vow not to push his feelings onto him anymore.

“There. All set.”

Oscar gently removed Cielo’s top and draped a bathrobe over his shoulders.

“Go wash up. I’ll prepare breakfast. You haven’t eaten anything yet, right?”

“Ah…”

“Shall I escort you there?”

“Ah—n-no! That’s all right!”

Clutching the robe, Cielo quickly stood up.

Thump. Thump. Thump.

It was strange.

Strangely, inexplicably…

His heart was pounding wildly.

After bathing, Cielo naturally found himself seated at the table. He hadn’t given it much thought—he’d simply gotten used to Oscar being around.

‘He’s… handsome.’

As a child, Oscar had been more cute than handsome—baby fat that hadn’t fully disappeared, delicate features, and large round eyes.

But six years had passed. The adult Oscar had shed nearly all traces of his younger self. His wide eyes had grown sharp, and his once-cute face had matured into something dignified.

“Master?”

“Uh—yes?”

“Why are you staring at me like that? Do I have something on my face?”

“N-No…”

Cielo, who had been blankly staring at Oscar’s face, lowered his head and picked up his spoon.

Even as he forced food into his mouth, his eyes kept drifting toward Oscar.

The sharp lines of his nose, his full lips, the way his usually expressionless face softened when he looked at Cielo…

‘Am I losing my mind…?’

Could it be… that he was starting to become conscious of Oscar because of what he said earlier?

Up until now, he’d always seen Oscar as a child. He was sure of it. But now, with his heart pounding like this, he couldn’t even tell if he was eating through his mouth or nose.

“Hm… Something’s off. Master, by any chance…”

As Oscar leaned in to say something, Cielo stiffened and looked up at him.

Oscar blinked at the clear signs of nervousness in Cielo’s posture—then grinned.

“…Could it be?”
