“…I can smell it!”

Cielo pulled the blanket over his nose, trying to block out the pheromones Oscar had released.

They weren’t his usual gentle scent—this one had been released in a panic and was far too intense for Cielo to handle.

“S-Sorry, Master!”

Oscar apologized hurriedly, rushing to the window just like Eli had, trying to drive his pheromones out.

Watching Oscar flail, Cielo turned his eyes to the corner where Eli stood frozen.

The moment Eli felt Cielo’s gaze, his body flinched hard.

“You two, don’t tell me…”

“Don’t tell you what?”

When Cielo tilted his head in confusion, Eli immediately shut his mouth.

‘He’s… probably imprinted on him, isn’t he…?’

Judging from that reaction, Cielo didn’t seem to realize it himself—that he had imprinted on Oscar.

‘…Wait a second. Wasn’t he seeing Doberman?’

Could it be that the great Ryan had been dumped?

Feeling something was off, Eli couldn’t hold back his curiosity and asked,

“Esteban. Can you… not smell Doberman’s pheromones either?”

“Ryan’s pheromones? No, I could smell them just fine up until a few days ago.”

Eli, startled by the answer, quickly covered his mouth.

He couldn’t smell pheromones from any other alphas, but could with Ryan and Oscar?

Wait, did he imprint on both? Is that even possible?

“No, maybe it’s because he hates me that he can’t smell mine. Hold on.”

Muttering quickly, Eli dashed out of the hut and returned with a pale man Cielo had never seen before.

“Release some pheromones.”

“What? Why?”

“Don’t ask—just do it and step out.”

The man, though confused, did as Eli said and released his pheromones.

But as expected, Cielo couldn’t sense a thing.

“Nothing?”

“…No. Nothing at all.”

Watching Eli fuss over it, Cielo quietly looked down at his own palm.

But Eli’s expression only brightened more and more.

“Finally…”

“…?”

“It seems… you’ve found happiness, too.”

It was a statement that made no sense.

He’d just been asking whether Cielo could detect pheromones, and now he was talking about finding happiness?

Whatever he had confirmed—Cielo didn’t know what it was.

Still—

“Yes, I’m happy now,” Cielo replied with a clear smile.

At that, Eli showed the most relaxed expression he had since their reunion.

***

Sitting up in bed, Cielo checked over his body.

There wasn’t a single scar left—it was proof of Oscar’s skill.

“So dominant traits really do make a difference…”

Ryan hadn’t been wrong.

With such strong dominant traits, Oscar’s healing ability was powerful enough to far surpass Cielo’s own.

Cielo also had dominant traits, but healing as completely as Oscar—leaving not even a trace of injury—was beyond him.

And unlike the original story, he didn’t even seem to struggle.

While Oscar did seem slightly drained, he hadn’t been in agony like Cielo had been.

That’s a relief.

Smiling, Cielo changed into the clothes Eli had prepared for him and stepped outside the hut.

“I just heard—you’re planning to return to the Esteban estate?”

Eli asked as he crossed his arms, talking with Oscar.

“Yes. That’s what I intend to do. There’s something I need to accomplish.”

“Hm… Weren’t you attacked by Pielago on your way there and thrown off a cliff?

He might be at the estate right now.”

Despite Eli’s concern, Cielo nodded without hesitation.

“I know it’ll be dangerous. But I’m going anyway.”

“You’re going there even knowing that? Why?”

It made no sense.

He had just said he was happy.

Why willingly walk back into a place that would only bring pain?

“Because unless I face what’s been given to me, I’ll just end up suffering more later.”

“……”

“Even if things are calm now, sooner or later the things I buried will resurface—and they’ll torment me again.”

That’s why he wanted to resolve everything now.

Not to become complacent with the happiness he had now—

but to fight for the sake of protecting it.

“Effort…”
