Becoming the Terminally-Ill Villain Who Torments His Disciples - Chapter 86.2
“I only burned things up to that point. I didn’t do the rest.”
Oscar averted his gaze slightly as he muttered in a tone that sounded like an excuse. It seemed he still felt guilty for the lightning strike that had wreaked havoc on the mansion.
When Cielo smiled as if to say it was fine and gave him a pat on the shoulder, Oscar naturally raised his arm and interlaced his fingers with Cielo’s.
“Master, watch your step.”
Cielo glanced down at his feet at the affectionate tone in Oscar’s voice, while Ryan, standing nearby, let out a dry laugh.
“Seriously, I’m over here trying to keep an eye on our surroundings, and even now you’re busy trying to get Cielo’s attention?”
“I figured someone more experienced, like Lord Doberman, would handle the surveillance better than I could.”
Oscar’s short reply made Ryan’s eyebrow twitch.
Still, Oscar didn’t seem to be paying him much mind and continued to carefully guide Cielo, checking if he was walking steadily or stepping on anything odd.
Then, all of a sudden, Oscar lifted his head sharply and pulled Cielo into his arms. He hugged Cielo tightly, as if to shield him from a sound, and with his other hand, he covered one of Cielo’s ears and snapped his fingers.
Rumble… CRACK!
A thunderous roar filled the air as lightning flashed across the sky. A bolt of lightning struck nearby with a sharp, blinding crack.
Right after, the ground rumbled like an earthquake. A monster, charred black from the strike, collapsed to the ground.
“Ugh! Hey, damn it! If you’re going to use your powers, give us a heads-up first! I almost had a heart attack!”
“Master, are you alright? You’re not hurt, are you?”
Ignoring Ryan’s outburst, Oscar locked eyes with Cielo and asked.
Cielo, stunned, nodded slowly—then turned to look at the monster’s corpse.
Just moments ago, there had been nothing in the garden. But now…
“A monster was summoned…”
Sol, who had entered the garden belatedly, muttered as he looked at the dead monster. Then, turning urgently to Cielo, he asked,
“Are you hurt? Are you alright?”
At his anxious questioning, Cielo nodded slowly.
“Yes. I occasionally feel a tightening in my chest, but it doesn’t hurt.”
“…It doesn’t hurt?”
When Cielo nodded again, Sol’s expression twisted in disbelief.
Cielo was still the sacrifice, and yet a monster had just been summoned before their eyes. It was clear that Typhon, likely still inside the mansion, was continuously summoning monsters to meet the conditions for demonic summoning.
“That doesn’t make any sense…”
“Whatever it is, it’s a good thing. It’s better if Cielo is in less pain. Don’t overthink it now.”
“…”
“What matters is stopping Father.”
At Pielago’s words, Sol nodded.
There was no clear reason why there was no pain. But if Cielo wasn’t hurting, then this might be their only chance to stop Typhon.
‘I feel like someone is protecting me.’
Cielo gripped the sword he held in his arms tightly.
Whether it was the divine energy radiating from the sword that was protecting him, or the blue aura that had briefly surfaced in his subconscious—it was unclear.
Right now, he was moving forward for just one goal.
“Let’s go.”
As Cielo said that and took a step toward the Esteban mansion—
Eeeek—
The iron gate of the Esteban estate, which had been tightly shut, creaked open with a chilling noise.
Cielo stared at it and slowly twisted his face in discomfort.
It was unclear what had happened inside. But the moment the gate opened, thick, dark red blood began pouring out from within.
As Cielo stared at it in silence, heavy, slow footsteps echoed from inside. A black shadow wavered in the dark interior of the mansion.
“Step back, Cielo.”
Ryan, who had noticed it, drew his sword and stood in front of Cielo.
But what emerged from the mansion wasn’t a monster.
Leaning on a cane and limping heavily… it was Typhon, his face utterly ragged and worn.
