Zyla was quite literally madly in love with the male protagonist, the Imperial Crown Prince. Her love went beyond simple obsession and carried a hint of insanity. Why else would the Imperial Crown Prince have cursed viciously at her and ordered her to stay away from him?
Yet she did not give in. Driven mad by love, Zyla tried by any means to see the Imperial Crown Prince again, and in the end, she did something she never should have done.
She attempted to hand the female protagonist, Ellione, over to mercenaries. Those mercenaries committed every manner of brutal deed without so much as blinking.
Even murder. Zyla handed Ellione over to men like that and went so far as to order them to kill her cruelly.
Naturally, although Enoch cherished his younger sister, he would never condone harming another person. But by the time he discovered what Zyla had done, it had all already happened.
The one fortunate thing was that Ellione survived unharmed. That was the moment it became clear that the Imperial Crown Prince had made her his knight for more than mere affection.
In the story, she escaped the mercenaries through her own ability, bound them together, and turned them over to the law for judgment.
When Enoch learned of it, he was relieved that Ellione was safe. Yet in that same moment, he realized that the Imperial Crown Prince, the male lead, would quickly deduce who had been behind the incident.
So he took all the blame in Zyla’s place. He went to the Imperial Crown Prince himself and claimed responsibility for everything.
Naturally, the Imperial Crown Prince flew into a rage, and Enoch was punished. The punishment left him with a limp in one leg.
But all of Enoch’s efforts to protect Zyla came to nothing in an instant when she caused trouble yet again.
Even then, of course, Enoch did not give up. Though he ultimately failed, he tried until the very end to protect his younger sister and his house by any means he could.
Whenever Jaeyi thought of Enoch, another person came to mind. It was Jaeyi’s former stepbrother, with whom he had once lived before transmigrating into this body.
Before he was left with his grandmother as a child, Jaeyi had lived with his stepbrother, the son his father’s new wife had brought into the marriage. Back then, his stepbrother had rescued Jaeyi again and again from his father, who beat him every day.
For the few months before his stepmother could no longer endure his father’s violence and abuse and finally separated from him, Jaeyi had relied heavily on that stepbrother.
After the couple separated, he could no longer see his stepbrother either… Even so, Jaeyi still thought about that time.
After briefly losing himself in his thoughts, Jaeyi ruffled his own hair. This was no time for such memories. What he had thought was merely a story in a novel was unfolding before his very eyes.
He had to change fate somehow. The problem was that he had no idea what point in the novel this period corresponded to.
In the first place, Enoch was no more than a character attached to the villainess in 〈The Tyrant’s Hidden Blade〉, so it was only natural that Jaeyi did not know the details of his circumstances.

Three days passed. As Jaeyi ate, slept, relieved himself, and washed in the mansion, he gradually accepted that he had transmigrated and became someone else inside a book. Little by little, he also grew accustomed to life as Enoch.
On the first day, his thoughts were so tangled that he spent the entire time in a daze. He simply couldn’t believe that he had transmigrated into another world, as a different person.
On the second day, he suddenly began worrying about reality. His paternal grandmother had died before he entered high school, and after leaving Jaeyi with her, his father had never once come to find him.
So he effectively had no family who would worry over his disappearance. He had no family to be concerned about, but…
Classes were another matter. More than anything, money! He couldn’t bear worrying about the money.
He had scraped it together with his own blood, sweat, and tears, yet he had transmigrated into a book without spending a single penny. Could anything be more unfair?
He couldn’t get the fact out of his head. In the end, unable to withstand the anguish, Jaeyi took to his bed and groaned miserably.
On the third day, Jaeyi tried giving his head a hard enough blow to send him back on the off chance it might work. For example, he rammed his head into the wardrobe, sprinted headfirst into a wall to engage it in a deep display of physical affection, and rolled down the stairs. Things of that sort.
But every attempt failed and left him with nothing but injuries. After carrying on for quite some time, Jaeyi lay in bed with his head wrapped in bandages and suddenly had a thought.
If he had entered this body, where was the real Enoch? So, alone in his room, Jaeyi whispered into the empty air, “Enoch? Enoch?”
For Jaeyi, it was something he couldn’t help trying. One never knew, after all.
The problem was that, at that very moment, he made direct eye contact with Zyla, who had opened the door to check on him out of concern.
