“I’m sorry. I didn’t understand what you said.”

Ha-on hurriedly reached out his hand.

“But I don’t think I need to hear it. Just a moment.”

Hasty, stopping words burst out first.

Ha-on unwittingly snatched away even Cha Jeongwon’s right to speak before quickly finding a phone charger and plugging it in. He tried to turn on the power right away, but perhaps because it was drained, it didn’t turn on immediately.

‘Please… turn on quickly.’

He needed to verify whether what Cha Jeongwon said was true, or if he was misunderstanding all by himself.

Because of his missing memories, he felt even more anxious for no reason.

“Because you wouldn’t let go of me, I couldn’t leave you behind.”

“Liar.”

Ha-on immediately shot back at Cha Jeongwon’s words.

He didn’t understand what had happened to the current situation at all.

“I don’t have a single memory.”

The statement that he had no memory sounded like a pathetic excuse instead.

‘Really… it’s true that nothing happened, right?’

When he opened his eyes, Ha-on was properly dressed. His body was also fine, just a little stiff.

So he tried hard to brush it off, thinking nothing had happened, but facing Cha Jeongwon in person tangled up his thoughts.

He slept in the same room with an Alpha. In his mind, scandalous scenes were repeatedly drawn and erased.

Cha Jeongwon and himself sitting face to face, looking at each other, sensing pheromones, and as they gradually drew closer, their lips touched…

The phone vibrated and the screen turned on.

Fortunately, his imagination was cut short thanks to that.

“Huh?”

As soon as the power turned on, Ha-on checked the notifications that popped up at the top. Surprisingly, not many messages had arrived.

Among them, he checked the message from Kim Hyeongyu. Without any explanation of the situation, Kim Hyeongyu had simply sent a single video clip.

From the looks of it, it seemed like that one video would explain everything…

After drawing a breath, Ha-on pressed the play button.

The scenery of yesterday’s pub appeared on the screen.

A half-empty table. Disheveled hair. A flushed face.

It was Ha-on.

[Senior…]

The camera shook once.

From off-screen, the sound of Kim Hyeongyu barely holding back his laughter could be heard. The sound of Cha Seojun trying to stop him from filming also rang out.

[Senior, going alone… you’re not, right?]

Ha-on in the video was clinging tightly to Cha Jeongwon’s arm.

It was almost close to the level of hanging on for dear life.

[I also… like you. I want to have you.]

[Senior, you’ll regret it later.]

[We were good together.]

Though his tone of voice was slushy and slurred, it was persistent.

Watching his own drunken antics like this through a video, Ha-on felt as if his entire body were twisting up.

His hands trembled fine-grained. He was driven mad with the desire to hide inside the duvet right this instant.

[Seni~or. …Let’s go together.]

Ha-on in the video spoke while smiling.

His eyes were half-unfocused, but his expression was ecstatic.

The video stopped right there. Silence descended.

Ha-on’s hand holding the phone slowly lowered.

“You saw it.”

Cha Jeongwon, who stood up from the floor, spoke.

His hair was slightly disheveled, but even in the midst of this, his eyes were remarkably clear. It almost looked as if he were glaring a little.

“You didn’t let go of me.”

Ha-on opened his mouth and closed it.

What should he say? His tongue wouldn’t follow along.

‘I get that I grabbed onto him and wouldn’t let go… but what comes after that?’

Blood rushed to his face.

“Why… Did I do that.”

That was all the words he managed to wring out.

When he couldn’t recall last night, it was agonizing and anxious, but now that everything was revealed, a sense of self-loathing washed over him instead.

Cha Jeongwon let out a snort.

“Acting like you had no interest in me…”

His words followed slowly.

“Keep asserting that.”

Even after he left the bedroom, Ha-on couldn’t move an inch from that spot.

“No, why on earth did I…”

Even squeezing his brain, nothing came to mind. He didn’t know the reason either.

Did I really have an interest in Cha Jeongwon?

“No…”

This was something he could say for certain.

He admits that he liked his pheromones. But that was merely an objective evaluation that the scent was nice, just like saying someone who is handsome is handsome.

So, it’s like a preference for diffusers.

“Senior has someone else he is supposed to like.”

Even if he pushes away all the Omegas approaching like that, it’s supposed to be a story where he opens his heart to only one person in the end.

Remembering all of that original plot, wouldn’t he be acting like an uninvited intruder squeezing in here?

So why did he do that?

“Do I really like that person?”

After muttering, the air in the room felt even more awkward.

Ha-on lightly slapped his own mouth once with his palm.

“I must be crazy.”

This, too, must be one of the continuous series of misfortunes. He wanted to sum it up like that.

***

Ha-on peeked through the door and checked the outside.

Whether he had gone to the bathroom, Cha Jeongwon was nowhere to be seen.

Ha-on cautiously stepped out through the gap in the door. He intended to get out of here quickly. Looking around here and there to find the front entrance, he unwittingly hesitated.
