Don't You Need an Omega Lucky Charm - Chapter 70.1
As Lee Soyul finished speaking, the department room became noisy again.
The sound of pushing chairs in, the sound of dragging bags, and whispers of either going or staying here mixed together.
Ha-on sat in his seat and watched that flow. Thanks to that, he was able to see who was getting up and who was staying behind.
‘He might not do it, too.’
Ha-on tried making such an excuse to himself once. Cha Jeongwon might really not do it.
‘Because he’s a 4th year and busy, has to do field practice together, and also has to prepare for his graduation project…’
If listing reasons, there were too many.
However, Cha Jeongwon didn’t move. He simply quietly crossed his legs and straightened his back in his seated spot.
Nodding his head briefly toward the people leaving, he looked forward again. With that single motion, his answer was finished.
‘He’s doing it.’
Ha-on mumbled inside.
In the first place, it was something he couldn’t even expect. He felt empty anew.
Setting aside portfolios and whatever else, it was his maternal grandfather’s retrospective exhibition, so isn’t it natural that Cha Jeongwon would want to participate?
“Yoon Ha-on, are you going to do it?”
Beside him, Kim Hyeongyu asked.
“Me?”
Ha-on slowly blinked his eyes.
“Yeah. You.”
Kim Hyeongyu pointed forward with his chin.
“You like this kind of thing. It’ll go into your portfolio, too.”
“Thinking about the portfolio, it’s good.”
Ha-on answered. Though he spoke that way, his heart was strangely caught.
“Then why are you dithering like this?”
Kim Hyeongyu immediately noticed Ha-on’s suspicious part.
“What are you worrying about so much?”
At those words, Ha-on closed his lips for a moment.
Cha Jeongwon’s back view entered the very center of his field of vision, then his gaze shifted to Lee Soyul’s tablet.
What would happen between those two was imagined automatically.
The sight of Cha Jeongwon standing and nodding his head beside Lee Soyul, who spread out floor plans and talked. Even the words naturally passing back and forth between those two…
‘Is there a spot for me to be wedged in there?’
The question coming to mind inside his head was precisely just that.
“Hey.”
Kim Hyeongyu subtly poked Ha-on’s side.
“Are you going to just spectate from afar like that?”
“It’s not spectating, I’m contemplating. Because there’s a lot to do right away, whether I can do it or not…”
“What are you contemplating? You should claim it proudly.”
Kim Hyeongyu laughed softly.
While his voice was playful, his words were strangely distinct.
“Yoon Ha-on, this is a portfolio, but aside from the portfolio…”
He intentionally leaned his body a bit more.
“The relationship between the two of you is also at stake.”
“Our relationship?”
Ha-on widened his eyes big.
“If you’re in a relationship where you walk around holding hands, isn’t it official by now?”
Kim Hyeongyu spoke extremely naturally.
Ha-on shook his head firmly.
“Just because it’s a hand-holding relationship doesn’t mean everyone dates.”
“Whatever. Who was it asking me earlier if I saw Jeongwon Senior and Soyul Senior holding hands?”
Words to refute didn’t come to mind. Watching Ha-on dithering, Kim Hyeongyu clicked his tongue.
“If it were me, I’d stay unconditionally. I’d stay and take a spot right next to him. That way I can protect him.”
“Protect what?”
“Jeongwon Senior.”
Kim Hyeongyu’s answer was short, but strangely, it sounded unusually loud.
In an instant, Ha-on felt a thumping drop at the bottom of his chest.
“It’s not that kind of thing.”
Ha-on spoke quickly.
“I’m just thinking about the portfolio, that’s why.”
“Sure, sure. Portfolio.”
Kim Hyeongyu nodded his head.
Even so, seeing the corners of his mouth rise, he had an expression looking as though he didn’t believe it at all.
“Then there’s no need to contemplate further. Stay. If you want to do it, you do it. Don’t read the room for no reason.”
Reading the room.
The moment he heard those words, Ha-on realized what he had been looking at until now.
Lee Soyul and Cha Jeongwon.
He was hesitating over whether it was fine for him to step between the two.
If Lee Soyul was the main character he didn’t know about, he also had the thought that he shouldn’t interfere with his relationship with Cha Jeongwon. However, he remembered Cha Jeongwon’s hand that had been trembling thinly.
The more he thought, the more he didn’t want to leave the two together.
“…I’m really not like that.”
He mumbled once more, but Kim Hyeongyu was already zipping up his bag and preparing to get up.
“Anyway, I have to go to class, so I’ll go first.”
He said, pushing his chair.
“Find your own spot well on your own.”
The casually dropped words poked Ha-on’s heart once more for no reason.
