Only then, having regained a bit of composure, I managed to move my trembling lips.

“…Are you seriously trying to kidnap the Grand Consort of Hezekiain broad daylight?”

Viscount Elsworth turned his head. His cold gaze, tinged with mockery, quietly fixed on me.

“Kidnap? Why do you put it so harshly?”

“Then what else would you call this if not a kidnapping?”

“Well…”

He paused as if lost in thought, then a smile curled at the corner of his mouth as he continued.

“I suppose it’s a father taking his son who can’t distinguish heaven from earth and runs wild.”

“The Grand Duke will not remain idle. The Hezekiaknights have already seen your face. Do you not know the strength of the HezekiaKnights?”

“As you said, in broad daylight, what authority would the Grand Duke of Hezekiahave to threaten a Viscount of the Empire?”

“Why wouldn’t he? The Grand Duke wants to find his consort.”

“If we divorce, you will no longer be the Grand Consort of Hezekiah.”

His cold words made my chest drop. Only then did I realize what the Viscount was up to. He intended to detain me somewhere while using the time to submit an official divorce petition to the royal court.

Once the divorce was finalized, Tristan would have no authority to interfere with my fate. Normally, a divorce wouldn’t be decided so quickly, but judging by the situation, it seemed Everett was involved.

If that was the case, he would easily process a divorce between Tristan and me.

The thought made my head spin, the effects of the medicine surging again. I tried to take a deep breath to steady myself, but my fingertips were already trembling.

“Do not speak so carelessly.”

The Viscount let out a low laugh, as if amused by my expression.

“Carelessly? This matter is already decided. Wasn’t this marriage arranged from the start with divorce in mind? Hezekiawas never a place suited for you.”

His gaze slowly moved toward my face. Then, as if inspecting a precious gem, he scanned me from head to toe. The obsessive look made my skin crawl. For some reason, it felt like a dark, lustful desire, and I instinctively shrank my shoulders.

The Viscount leaned in slowly, looking satisfied. His smooth, cold fingers brushed against my cheek. The sensation sent chills down my spine, as though insects were crawling over my skin. Even in my confusion, I felt embarrassed. What the hell… what is happening?

“You’ve grown so beautifully. In the few years I didn’t see you, you’ve become even more lovely.”

Still composed, he continued, softly caressing my cheek.

“I can understand why His Highness Everett has suddenly taken an interest in you. As for me, I cannot touch the treasure I raised carefully and must hand it over entirely—it feels somewhat unfair, I must admit.”

A deep, sinister greed was palpable in his low voice. I could not endure his touch and quickly turned my face away, disgusted. My stomach churned. The Viscount laughed lightly, as if amused by my reaction.

“That is enough. It is time to leave Hezekiah.”

The disgusting tone carried a veneer of hypocritical kindness. I struggled to calm myself, breathing heavily. The Viscount leaned back in his seat, interlacing his fingers, and added with a relaxed smile:

“His Highness Everett desires you. He commands that the divorce be expedited and that you be brought to the palace. Since you are remarried, becoming the official consort of a Crown Prince is impossible, but as an official concubine, he will gladly accept you—be grateful.”

I could hardly believe my ears. My entire body felt frozen. What kind of nonsense is this, again…?

“You were adopted for this purpose from the beginning. I thought that since His Highness Everett showed little interest in you, you would merely serve as a spy for Hezekiaand be discarded afterward… Yet my judgment was correct. Even as a fervent Omega, difficult to restrain, you’ve accomplished something significant.”

“Y‑you’re insane…”

“Now, since you are to become the Crown Prince’s official concubine, mind your words and actions. And yet, despite your behavior, the Grand Duke seems quite enamored with you—apparently, what’s between your legs is rather useful.”
