It was as if the mere existence of a ‘younger brother’ was irritating and bothersome, both to Seong Do‑yoon and to those around him.

But in reality, that was not the case.

‘If he were that kind of guy, he wouldn’t come to check on me every time I return from a dungeon.’

Whenever Seong Do‑wan came, I pretended to be asleep, lying quietly and allowing him to inspect me.

He checked if I had any injuries, whether I had lost more weight, if I was properly covered by the blanket, and if my breathing was even.

Sometimes he would sigh softly after examining me for a while, and with familiar hands, he would pat my chest before leaving.

That was something no one who found their younger sibling annoying could do.

‘Only someone who loves like crazy could do that.’

I expected Seong Do‑wan to appear at the promotion test.

He had such good information that he knew exactly which days I would enter dungeons. Recently, he had even seen me suffer from the aftermath of battles, so he was surely worried, even if he did not show it.

Since I had easily passed the individual test at the promotion trial, he must be worried that I might actually get promoted and enter even more dangerous dungeons.

He was disgustingly honest and disgustingly overprotective.

‘How can Seong Do‑wan still treat Seong Do‑yoon like a child at this age?’

I clicked my tongue internally and walked toward Seong Do‑wan.

The last time I had met him was three weeks ago, the very day I had been possessed.

Seong Do‑wan, who hadn’t contacted me for a long time, suddenly came to Seong Do‑yoon and told him to stay quietly at home. He said that even though Seong Do‑yoon had become an awakener, it wouldn’t improve his situation, so he should heed his warning if he wanted to stay safe.

Seong Do‑wan’s warning came from worry over his younger brother, who had returned injured from two prior dungeons. But Seong Do‑yoon, who had only ever been threatened by his older brother until now, interpreted it differently. He resolved that if he misbehaved, Seong Do‑wan would not leave him unharmed, regardless of being his brother.

In the past, I would have meekly stayed home and kept my head down, but the awakened Seong Do‑yoon was different.

Determined not to be intimidated as before, he headed to the dungeon defiantly toward Seong Do‑wan.

Not knowing it would be the last time.

‘Blaming Seong Do‑wan for Seong Do‑yoon’s death has issues, but that doesn’t mean everything he did was meaningless. Even if it was for his younger brother.’

Seong Do‑wan must have periodically checked on Seong Do‑yoon even when Seong Do‑yoon didn’t remember it. Seeing the discreet security near the ruined house now, it was clear he had worried about his brother’s safety the entire time they were apart.

Yet he avoided meeting directly. Externally, only a handful of people probably knew that he was meeting his brother.

According to widespread rumors, Seong Do‑wan, vice-clan leader of Horizon, was said to intensely dislike and hate his younger brother. So much so that even mentioning his brother’s name in front of Seong Do‑wan would make the atmosphere tense, with warnings not to speak unless one wanted to die.

But knowing that it was not because he hated Seong Do‑yoon, but to protect him, there was no need to be cautious.

‘Why should I avoid using a card that I can leverage from Seong Do‑wan?’

His abilities, his influence, and his concern for his hidden younger brother.

As I moved upward, he was a perfect card to use.

Since we were approaching each other, it did not take long for us to stand face to face.

“Seong Do‑yoon.”

Seong Do‑wan looked down at me coldly and spoke my name. I did not flinch and faced him calmly, and his eyes twitched slightly.

“Go home immediately.”

It was a short, cold command.

The original Seong Do‑yoon would have slumped his shoulders, hung his head, hesitated for a long moment, and eventually nodded.

‘As the original Seong Do‑yoon, I should do that to avoid suspicion, but……’

I had no intention of doing so.

For whatever reason, this guy had always kept Seong Do‑yoon under his control and did as he pleased.

“I don’t want to.”

And now, I strongly disliked that he was still trying to act on his own whims.

“Why not?”

Seong Do‑wan’s eyes twitched once more.
