In the Name of God - Chapter 35.1
-Master! There’s no time!
I felt Echo pressing its front paws anxiously against the inside of my hood.
I tapped lightly on Lee Sunho’s chest, who was standing too close, and turned my body.
“Stop saying useless things and go. I’m coming too.”
I gave him a glare to signal once more that he should not follow.
Fortunately, he seemed to understand. Even when he glanced back while falling behind, he did not follow. I exhaled in relief and quickened my pace.
-If you enter the alley ahead, there’s a motel just 20 meters in!
As we entered the alley, just as he said, a cheap motel with a single-colored neon sign awkwardly glowing came into view. I practically ran to push the door open and handed over my card immediately.
“One room, quickly.”
Seeing my urgency, the staff at the counter hurried to accommodate me.
I grabbed the room key and rushed to the elevator, heading to the room.
After closing the door, I checked the time—

About a minute and thirty seconds left.
“Phew…”
-That was close.
Hearing Echo’s relieved voice, I took off my coat. Echo popped out of the hood and circled around my feet.
I tossed the coat onto the bed roughly and collapsed into a chair. I felt Echo scratching at my pant leg as it circled.
-Not much time left!
“I know.”
Unlike the earlier panic, I was much calmer now. I had made it into a place where I could hide before the remaining time ran out. There was no need to rush anymore.
I had never planned to synchronize within the time limit anyway.
“I should at least check what the penalty is.”
-No way?!
Echo jumped in surprise.
But of course.
If it just says ‘penalty’ without any details, how would I know what would happen?
I needed to see what disadvantages I might face to decide whether to follow the time limit or ignore it.
“What’s the worst that could happen? Just die?”
I said it, but it did not mean I was okay with dying.
I could not die until I found the beloved apostle and severed the link between my lifespan and the world’s destruction.
‘And the system wouldn’t put my death as a penalty, since it already stakes my life as a quest reward.’

Now one minute left.
Echo was still clinging to my pants, straining, but I leaned back in the chair and waited patiently for the time to pass.

When the remaining time reached thirty seconds—
Knock knock-
There was a knock at the door.
And—
“Excuse me. I’m the stalker.”
A crazy guy appeared, introducing himself as the stalker from beyond the door.
For a moment, I thought I misheard.
I leapt up from my seat and glared at the door in shock.
“Lee Sunho?”
Even Echo seemed startled, blinking while clinging to my leg.
Why did he follow me here?
Should I pretend he’s not here?

Knock knock-
“Stalker coming in?”
Pretending he wasn’t there was out of the question.
It seemed he was certain I was already in the room, so I moved quickly to the door.
“I don’t know how you got here, but just don’t come in, okay? You said you had something to do.”
“I came because I have something to do too.”
“Stop joking.”
“I’m not joking…”
Don’t act so gloomy, stalker.

Ten seconds left.
“Go. I have no more time to deal with this.”
I said it sharply on purpose. I had to send him back while I was still in control.
As I turned away, refusing to face him any longer—
Beep-
The sound of the card key touching the door lock rang out. Startled, I turned, and indeed, the doorknob was moving.
“What…!”
What kind of security is this motel running?
Lee Sunho boldly pushed the door open and stepped inside, a grin tugging at the corner of his eyes.
“I came to help. It would be hard alone.”
I pushed him away with a stiff, serious expression.
Damn it. Somehow, he was not budging.
“What do you mean help? No, first get out. Right now.”
