Before I did anything, I decided to ask first.
“Are you okay?”
“With what?”
Lee Sunho tilted his head and moved to stand beside me. I walked alongside him while staring at the two Team 8 members walking ahead.
“As long as we are in the 3rd division, you might hear things like that often in the future.”
“I don’t care.”
He spoke calmly, but suddenly his tone turned cold again.
“But I hate it when you are disparaged and provoked by trash like that.”
My footsteps stopped of their own accord at Lee Sunho’s words.

As if to back this up, Echo, who was hidden inside my hood, shouted urgently.
“Master! An alien energy is being detected from underground!”
Supporting Echo’s words, the ground we stood upon began to undergo an earthquake.

“The floor…! The underground is moving!”
It wasn’t a simple vibration; it felt like the earth itself was twisting.
Because the ground beneath my feet was shaking violently, I almost lost my balance.
The ground cracked wide open. The broken asphalt floor rose up sharply, and parts of it sank deeply below.
Lee Sunho grabbed my waist and pulled me away. A large fissure formed in the spot he had just taken me from.
At that moment, a system window appeared before my eyes. I was startled first by the untimely message.

I was startled a second time by the phrase I had never seen before.
And for the third time, I gasped as I looked at the chaotic phenomenon beyond the system window.
Beyond the system window, at the very spot where we had been standing.
A massive black sinkhole had formed, looking as if a giant whale were opening its mouth toward the sky. Even now, the hole was gradually widening as if it were continuing to open its mouth.
“R-report this immediately…!”
The Team 8 leader, who had fled in the opposite direction from us, hurriedly pulled out his radio. The other teammate who had sought refuge with him also added his voice to the report of the anomaly. Then, as if they had heard something through the radio, they flapped their hands at us on the other side. I thought they wanted us to come that way, but it seemed to mean we should flee further away since the earthquake was continuing.
But I couldn’t retreat.

How could I resist this?
A quest with a one month lifespan reward that I was seeing for the first time.
To ignore this and pass it by would be to miss a golden opportunity to double my current remaining lifespan.

According to the regulations, only those in the 2nd division or higher can enter dungeons in the disaster area.
As a bottom-tier 3rd division member who just joined the clan, officially entering that dungeon was impossible in itself.
