Idol of the Heavenly One - Chapter 110.1
The AAM Awards were held again this year, and the members headed to the arena early in the morning after getting their hair and makeup done at the shop.
This year’s outfits were coordinated as a group in white and silver cropped suits with chain details, creating a trendy look. They looked almost like princes from a neighboring country, and I thought fans would love it.
Later, we took a few selfies to show to fans and filmed reels of the members dancing together in the hallway of the waiting room. We also participated in challenge reels with other idols, though once again Baek Jae-heon was excluded. Today, however, it seemed more justified. Baek Jae-heon wasn’t just looking like a prince from a neighboring country, he looked like a prince on a white horse sent to save the world.
“Seriously, he’s really handsome.”
“Seriously?”
“Yeah.”
“Why are you so handsome today?”
At my words, Baek Jae-heon, who was sipping coffee through a straw, smiled. His face seemed to radiate light, and I just stared, dazed.
Then Baek Jae-heon glanced around and whispered to me quietly.
“…This is troubling.”
“What is?”
“…That face.”
“What face?”
“….”
“What face?”
I kind of understood what he meant, but teasingly kept asking. Then Baek Jae-heon slowly stood up, gave me a look, and walked into the emergency stairs beside the waiting room.
I squinted and followed him inside, and as soon as I did, Baek Jae-heon turned to face the door and pulled me into a hug.
“Hey, we’ll get caught…”
“I’m blocking the door.”
“…Seriously.”
Lately, Baek Jae-heon seemed to have grown more playful. He’d cling to me whenever he could, try to hold me, whisper that he liked me. If I didn’t respond, he’d sulk or act upset. Strangely, I liked it. Maybe it was because I’d never received this kind of affection before. I would never act like that toward him because it would feel cheesy, but every time Baek Jae-heon did, I felt a deep sense of satisfaction.
“You’re really handsome today.”
“Really handsome, huh? Keep saying it.”
“Yeah. Really. Like a prince.”
“Ji Myeong-hyeon looks like a prince too.”
Thinking about it, I wondered if I was the type weak to affectionate playfulness. But when Kwon Ji-hak acted similarly, I thought it was annoying, so maybe I wasn’t after all.
“Also… kind of like a newlywed.”
“I don’t like having a groom.”
“A groom could exist. That’s a confined way of thinking.”
“You mean the groom is you?”
“Who else would it be?”
I lowered my voice and said it smoothly, and Baek Jae-heon laughed loudly and wrapped his big body around me. His face was so handsome and pretty that I smiled back and hugged his back.
Ah, I’m not weak to playful affection… I’m weak to handsome faces.
Knock-knock
“Hey, stop that and come out. We have to go to the red carpet.”
Then, I heard Joo I-rip’s voice from behind the door.
We loosened our hug and smiled awkwardly before opening the emergency stair door. Joo I-rip gave us a shocked look and walked ahead.
We exchanged a glance and shrugged, laughing.
Like last time, we exited the waiting room and got into the car. Pretending we had just arrived, we stepped out at the arena entrance, greeted by a flurry of camera flashes. A camera director gestured from afar, and a staff member motioned for us to walk along the red line.
As if on cue, we walked together toward the red-carpeted photo wall. Honestly, I was still not used to walking on the red carpet. Hundreds of cameras clicked simultaneously, and the cheers sounded like waves at times and fireworks at others.
Once we stood at the photo wall, we posed for the cameras as requested. Soon, an MC approached to begin interviews.
“YEARZ has been incredibly popular lately.”
It was a formal interview. They talked about last year’s arena event and so on. We answered formally as expected. But the MC seemed particularly eager today and, perhaps overzealously, held the microphone toward Baek Jae-heon.
