Idol of the Heavenly One - Chapter 124.1
I felt all the strength drain from my body before I could even process the fact that the first day of the concert was over. I had certainly kept a smile on my face until the very end while on stage. I had finished the ending comments safely and completed the encore well, but the moment I sat in the car heading back to the dorm, both my mind and my legs gave out. Even though my legs felt heavy, they also felt light and floaty as if I were still stepping on the stage floor, and the cheers of the fans continued to ring in my ears like an echo.
The first thing I saw upon opening the dorm door was a spread of food that was far more excessive than expected. I don’t know who prepared it, but at this hour, a table set like this was practically a feast. The sensation of hunger hit me late, and pushing aside the thought of showering for a moment, I sat at the table with Joo I-rip and Go Hee-min and ate frantically. I don’t remember how it tasted. I think I just ate to survive. I chewed and swallowed whatever entered my mouth, and if someone beside me told me to drink water, I silently took it and drank.
After that, I intended to go straight to my room, but the Manager hyung insisted I had to wash up before sleeping and practically shoved me into the bathroom. After barely washing my leaden body and coming out, I threw myself onto the bed. Falling asleep as if collapsing was the perfect way to describe it. It was a deep sleep without dreams, something closer to passing out.
Nevertheless, my eyes snapped open when dawn broke. My body was still heavy and my head felt foggy. Out of habit, my hand reached for my phone. When I turned on the screen, the first thing I saw was 5:12 AM, followed by a text from Baek Jae-heon. It was a short sentence telling me to rest well, and the moment I saw it, I laughed for no reason. This guy, really—he sent me a text even in that state of mind. He must have been out of it too. Ah, is it because he has experience with concerts that he has this much composure? I didn’t have the strength for a long reply, so I just sent an emoticon of someone waking up from sleep and looked back down at the screen; the “read” mark was already there. Huh? Is he asleep? Or is he awake?
[Jae-heon-i: You passed out, didn’t you?]
[ㅋㅋ Yeah, you’re not sleeping?]
[Jae-heon-i: I slept]
[Did you pass out too?]
[Jae-heon-i: I passed out during my first concert.]
[ㅋㅋ And now?]
[Jae-heon-i: Your senior is different]
[ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ]
[Jae-heon-i: Sleep more. Until 7:00.]
[Yes, Sunbaenim]
[Jae-heon-i: hahahah]
I exited the chat with a chuckle. However, it felt awkward to just fall back asleep, so I opened SNS. I was curious about the reaction to today’s concert. As expected, the timeline was full of concert talk. Between comments about the setlist being good, the live vocals being insane, and the stage production being like a movie, I kept seeing my name. It was a feeling that was familiar yet not quite fully lived-in yet.
As I continued to read the posts left by fans one by one, my heart began to beat a little faster. I realized that the word “good” could be this scary. Along with the relief that I was somehow managing to live up to the expectations I had received, a sense of pressure to do even better next time rushed in. Still, I thought it might be okay to just enjoy this reaction as it is for today. The first day was over, we did it safely, and if everyone had fun, that was enough.
However, there were certain words that appeared exceptionally often. Baek-Cheon, unit, eyes, distance. As I scrolled down, reviews of the special unit stage we did today poured in. Saying the two of them doing that is “guilty,” that gaze is “guilty,” even the way they looked at each other while catching their breath when the song ended is “guilty,” and so on. These were reactions I could have laughed off lightly. However…

CZ, stop pushing Baek-Cheon already, seriously. Why are just those two suddenly doing a special unit ㅋㅋㅋ I’m really gonna start swearing if you don’t stop ㅠ And Ji Myeong-hyeon, stop making it so obvious. Are you doing that on purpose? Acting all surprised and freezing up as if it’s real whenever Baek-Cheon comes up; it’s disgusting; why are you gay bastards so desperate to make it obvious? I really want to like YEARZ, but I can’t stan because of you ㅋㅋ
