Idol of the Heavenly One - Chapter 27.2
└ Mental Illness Detector Dog: Seriously, why are you acting like someone who tried to cause trouble but failed? Why are you so mad? lol
Fan Happiness, Idol Happiness: Anyway, are you all going to AMM? The kids are performing, and I heard rumors they might do a new song too?!
└ Love Is Not Self-Harm but Generosity: Of course! It has been years since they last performed in Korea!!!

Time after debut passed at a speed incomparable to before. Every day was so packed with schedules that in the last two weeks, the time I actually spent lying down to sleep did not even feel like a total of twenty-four hours.
At least yesterday marked the end of our first debut activities, so with no more music show commutes, I thought we might finally get a little bit of breathing room.
“YEARZ is going to shoot some original content. Do you all want to pitch ideas?”
What on earth was this now? Original content? I knew what that meant. A lot of idol groups create their own YouTube channels and film variety-style videos, which I had heard was good for attracting fans. I figured we would eventually do it, but trying to film something already after just two weeks since debut?
No, they were already filming. I had walked into what I thought was just a meeting room without thinking, and saw cameras set up everywhere. Each member even had a personal camera pointed at them. That alone already meant this was original content.
“Amusement park! Let’s go to an amusement park!”
“Sleeping all day. Whoever sleeps the longest becomes king.”
“A cooking contest…!”
“Hold a guerrilla event for the fans!”
The members started excitedly tossing out ideas. Baek Jae-heon stayed quiet again, so I looked over at him sitting across the table, but as always, his attitude was just do whatever you want.
“I strongly agree with Go Hee-min’s idea.”
I was not going to waste the opportunity by brushing it off like Baek Jae-heon. I raised my hand and voiced my strong agreement with Go Hee-min’s idea. Even though our music show promotions had ended, when I checked the new schedule earlier it looked no different from those dawn commutes.
We still had public broadcast variety shows, YouTube variety content, magazine shoots, and multiple profile photoshoots to juggle. On top of that, with the next album coming in less than two months, recording and dance practice filled up the rest of the schedule. Because of all that, my sleep had been severely lacking. Whether at the salon, in the van, or at the broadcasting station, I nodded off whenever I could. And now they wanted us to film original content too? I felt like this was going to break people. Using the filming as an excuse, I just wanted a chance to sleep properly.
“Be reasonable, would that really work, kids?”
But Joo I-rip immediately pushed back. As leader, he probably thought it was a ridiculous suggestion.
“What, we’re not even allowed to talk? Did you rip our mouths off our faces?”
“That’s right.”
Go Hee-min jumped in right away to counter, and I eagerly nodded along. Exactly. We have mouths, so of course we should speak.
“Sleeping also restores strength, and we need that in order to keep working.”
“That’s right.”
“It’s not like I am trying to be lazy. And who said I would be the only one sleeping?”
“That’s right.”
“It is a game where the person who sleeps the longest wins! I just said it was a game.”
“That’s right!”
I nodded enthusiastically from the side. Normally he only made blunt comments, but today everything he said was so valid that I could not help agreeing.
Heh—
Then I heard a muffled laugh coming from across the table.
“B-but… let’s do something… realistic…!”
“That’s right! Fans will not like a sleeping game at all!”
Lee Soonbok and Kwon Ji-hak, who were sitting on the opposite side, supported Joo I-rip’s point and earnestly refuted us with serious faces. They were not the ones who laughed. Which meant there was only one person left.
“……”
Baek Jae-heon lowered his gaze as if he had never laughed. What was that? Did I mishear?
Of course, the PD rejected both Go Hee-min’s and my idea. They explained that the first variety would be planned directly by the production team, and although it was disappointing, we had no choice but to nod since they still needed footage for the original content concept.
Go Hee-min, however, never came to terms with it. Even after we returned to the dorm once the meeting ended, he kept repeating the same complaint. His idea was a game where the person who slept the longest would be king, so why was everyone against it? When he grumbled about it toward the members who opposed him, they fired back at him instead.
“Weren’t you the one who used to sleep seventeen hours straight if there was no schedule before debut?”
“How is that a game? Do you have no shame?”
Only then did the grumbling Go Hee-min shut his mouth.
