Idol of the Heavenly One - Chapter 87.2
After each person finished talking, the fan sign began.
“Myeong-hyeon, what perfume do you use?!”
“Do you want to smell it?”
“Yeah!”
I held out my wrist to the fan curious about my perfume. She shyly smelled it and then said it smelled amazing, which was incredibly cute. She asked a lot about me and spoke positively about everything, and I felt very grateful.
“Myeong-hyeon, I’ll try a wordplay poem with eel.”
I had heard this poem several times, so I knew it. But I pretended not to know, smiled, and began.
“Eel.”
“Do you want to marry me, with eel?”
“Yeah. I will.”
“Yaa~”
The fan laughed as if she couldn’t handle my playful response. I enjoyed talking and playing like this with fans.
“Myeong-hyeon, check this for me.”
Many fans brought post-its asking me to check something. Some were clever or funny, which I enjoyed.
[What do you think about I-rip hyung?
Number 1. Handsome hyung
Number 2. Hyung eats well
Number 3. Hyung is cute]
“I-rip hyung…?”
I looked at the post-it carefully, checked and wrote my answers, then handed it back to the fan.
[What do you think about I-rip hyung?
Handsome hyung
Hyung eats a lot. Baek Jae-heon eats a lot
Not cute, childish]
The fan laughed heartily at that, and I felt good too, happy that my answer made her laugh.
While I was signing diligently, it became my home photographer’s turn. She had a lot of experience with fan signs and video calls, so she wasn’t nervous and had prepared a script.
“Do this while looking at the camera over there.”
“You are really well-prepared.”
“How much is the money? Go.”
I laughed at that comment. It was true. Attending a fan sign costs a lot, so you had to perform sincerely. I memorized the script she gave me and spoke into the camera she was holding, which even had a microphone like for a vlog.
“You said sorry to your partner, right?”
“Add more emotion. Like lovers meeting after a breakup.”
“You said sorry to your partner…?”
“Good.”
I felt Baek Jae-heon beside me was surprised, but I couldn’t smile or look away since it was business.
“Then this didn’t come out…!”
“Good, good.”
“Did I do well?”
“Yes, your expression is perfect.”
Fans often request famous drama lines like this for online fan interactions. Having her coach me made it much easier because she understood exactly what was needed. She gave a thumbs-up and prepared to move on. I found her so funny that I added “누나 최고 / You’re the best” in PS.
And then the next person.
“…Hello.”
“….”
It was the familiar face from earlier beside the home photographer. Seeing her up close, I immediately remembered who she was. In China, she had acted cold toward other members but was friendly to Baek Jae-heon, like a split personality. I did not expect to see her again at the Korean fan sign.
Today, she also did not respond to anything. I planned to write a brief “thank you” in PS, but then I heard a soft laugh.
Her hand stopped mid-motion. Slowly, she raised her head and looked at Baek Jae-heon singing beside her. Her eyes shone unnaturally, and she let out a laugh without realizing it.
Goosebumps ran down my arm. That laugh was incredibly familiar.
“I’ll move on now.”
A voice from behind told her to go next. She did not look at me, and she passed the album to Baek Jae-heon. Her eyes stayed on him, but her hand moved the CD section of the album.
And the moment I saw the shiny object attached to the CD handle, my body reacted before my thoughts did.
