He shook his head in genuine exhaustion, twisting his neck in a habit typical of someone working overtime. It was somewhat amusing.

His tone was so real that I laughed for a moment. Then I felt strangely heavy-hearted.

Opening my eyes, I saw a white ceiling. Not the familiar dorm ceiling. Before I could wonder where I was, I heard a lively sound nearby. Turning my head, I saw the members lying on the sofa, playing games together. Why were they gathered there like that?
But that thought barely lasted a moment. Shifting my gaze to the steady breathing nearby, I saw Baek Jae-heon lying next to me, asleep.
His hair fell across his forehead, his face looked slightly pale. I brushed it aside lightly with my fingertips, feeling his warmth. Baek Jae-heon’s gentle warmth.
And I realized.
The destined idol was not me.
