Max Level Newbie Hides His Strength - Chapter 1.2
Then, the logo appeared again, this time with the title of a new scenario update beneath it:
Echo of Eternity
– Shadow of the Forgotten Star –
“What a grandiose name.”
Maybe because it was set in space, everything about it screamed scale and spectacle, very unlike Xenoforce, which barely had a story.
Sniffling lightly, Jiho clicked ‘Create New Character’ and entered the creation screen.
Three available classes appeared, each with a short description:
Argonite
Resolve stronger than steel. Become the shield of the battlefield.
→ A front-line guardian who blocks enemy attacks and protects allies.
Shadow Dancer
Vanish with the darkness, return with death.
→ Disrupts the battlefield with high mobility, chain evasion, and deadly damage.
Vitalis
Hope never fades, and neither does the light.
→ Heals allies, removes status effects, and revives the fallen in moments of crisis.
“Oh.”
Jiho let out a quiet sound of admiration. The sci-fi flair of the character designs stood out. The three basic roles were familiar: tank, DPS, and support.
From what he’d briefly searched earlier, after choosing one of the three, players could select a second subclass and skills matching their preferred attributes and playstyle.
Interestingly, the subclass choice could completely change the character’s direction and role.
The base skills stayed the same, but could be modified freely. It was a unique system seemingly designed to reduce the prevalence of class discrimination in raids and dungeons.
“Hm…”
After checking through each class’s skill trees and ultimate abilities, Jiho unhesitatingly chose the support class, Vitalis. For him, there was no option other than healer/support.
Vitalis’s basic ability was ‘Blessing of Light,’ a single-target heal, and its ultimate boosted both attack and healing power by 30%. It was an insane AoE buff. A hybrid class combining healing and offense.
The second-tier subclasses were ‘Judicator of the Sun,’ with powerful solar-based AoE attacks. The other was ‘Guardian of the Sun,’ with advanced buffing abilities.
Jiho chose Judicator of the Sun, drawn to its strong offensive skills.
Healing and dealing damage while cracking enemy skulls was his hobby and specialty.
After finalizing his class, Jiho customized his character with a clean, simple look, then entered his name in the ‘nickname’ field: Han Jiho. It was the username he’d used since childhood.
But when he pressed Enter, a pop-up appeared: “This nickname is already in use.”
Jiho frowned. So, unlike Xenoforce, EoE didn’t allow duplicate names.
After some thought, he tried Lee Jiho, but it was also taken. He muttered ‘I don’t know…’ and entered Han Jiho1. It was also taken.
Then, he tried to enter Han Jiho2. Taken. Han Jiho3. Same result.
Clicking his tongue, Jiho glared at the screen.
Tch. Didn’t think there’d be so many bastards with the same name.
Han Jiho4, taken. Han Jiho5, taken. Han Jiho6, 7, 8 — all taken…
“You bastards…”
Alright, let’s see how far this goes.
Muttering curses he rarely used, Jiho kept hammering the keyboard, until finally, on the 98th attempt, he found one that wasn’t taken.
His new nickname: Han Jiho98.
Feraa deraa
When will the new chapter be updated?
