May Every Wound Be Fatal - Chapter 52.1
After Reyna nearly killed Priscilla in the King’s garden, Elizer increased the number of guards and attendants protecting the detached palace.
It appeared as though he had bolstered the escort to protect his sister in law from the mad Queen. In reality, however, they were the King’s watchers.
Priscilla could no longer roam outside the detached palace at will, nor could she utilize the palace attendants as she once had. Shocked by the King’s betrayal, Priscilla eventually took to her bed, falling ill.
In truth, her body had been severely damaged by years of living as a fugitive. Her fever would spike at the slightest provocation or stress.
Elizer told the ailing Priscilla that he would never betray her or Lucian, but Priscilla could no longer trust him.
She had no choice. When Reyna, who had ultimately attempted suicide, hovered between life and death, Elizer could hardly pull himself together and refused to leave her side. Because of that, Priscilla became certain.
She believed that for Reyna’s sake, Elizer might even harm Lucian.
When her thoughts reached that point, her fingertips trembled with terror. She felt as though she had returned to that time when she had lost her mind after losing Kassian.
“…The Queen lost her memory?”
Amidst all this, the news that reached her was enough to drive her completely into a corner.
“I heard that only her memories from before her marriage remain, and she cannot remember anything that happened at the royal palace. They say she did not even recognize the King’s face….”
“Oh, Hilda. Do you honestly believe that?”
Priscilla, who had been lying limply on the bed, suddenly turned toward Hilda and cut her off quite fiercely. Priscilla’s pale face was frozen with uncontrollable anxiety and rage.
“That woman is Leonard’s daughter. It must be a bold faced lie.”
“A lie? But why would she tell such a lie….”
“His Majesty is exceptionally weak willed when it comes to her. That woman knows this. She is clearly pretending to lose her memory and acting pitiful just to preserve her life.”
Priscilla did not believe for a second that Reyna had lost her memory. After all, was it not a truly timely diagnosis at a moment when she should be held accountable for her crimes? It was obviously a falsehood.
And perhaps, by surviving through such lies, she….
“…She likely intends to survive that way and seek revenge for her father.”
In the end, Leonard failed to kill Priscilla and Lucian.
Consequently, he faced revenge and died.
Priscilla was terrified of the surviving Reyna.
Hilda soothed the frightened Priscilla with a calm voice.
“Lady Priscilla. Please, try to calm yourself for now. That woman is in a state where she cannot even walk properly. I heard she might even be unable to walk forever.”
“Even that might be a lie. Have you forgotten that she avoided execution for a while by lying about being pregnant?”
“That was….”
“And yet everyone believes those lies. I truly cannot believe it. If something goes wrong even for Lucian, I….”
However, Priscilla could not calm down. In a short span of time, her entire body became soaked in cold sweat. Hilda, with a pale and set face, silently wiped the cold sweat from her forehead. Priscilla continued to mutter while trembling violently.
“I must know that woman’s every move. Whether it be a maid or a guard, find a way to bribe them again.”
“…I will try my best.”
“We must kill her somehow before she harms Lucian. I will never let Lucian go like Kassian. Never….”
“Please do not say such things. Such a thing will never happen….”
Hilda felt as though she might cry because her mistress was so pitiful.
Priscilla had finally killed her husband’s enemy, yet she was still living inside a nightmare. Perhaps she would only find peace once the Queen was dead. However, it now seemed as though no one could kill the Queen.
“…….”
Hilda stayed by the side of the exhausted, sleeping Priscilla for a little while longer before quietly leaving her bedroom.
A sigh escaped her lips involuntarily. She thought all problems would be solved if only the Queen disappeared, but now she did not know what else to do. She walked through the long corridor with heavy steps.
“Prince!”
It was then that a boisterous voice was heard from a distance.
“Prince, where are you?”
“Please come out now!”
It was the voices of Lucian’s nanny, Marjorie , and the attendants searching desperately for Lucian.
It seemed they had lost Lucian “again.”
Hilda, letting out a small sigh, turned her steps toward the direction where the commotion was coming from.

Lucian had no friends his age.
He had been born on the road while fleeing and lived in hiding the entire time, and although he had finally entered the royal palace, he was in a position where he could not yet go outside the detached palace.
