Who would not think the same?

This garden was accessible only to royalty, and as far as Reyna knew, there were only two young men in the Wills family.

Of them, Prince Kassian had black hair like the deceased first queen. The reason King Bailion favored Prince Tiberian was because the prince resembled the king himself.

Therefore, the man before her must be Prince Tiberian, her future husband.

Reyna had never imagined meeting him like this. He was far, far more magnificent than she had pictured, and her mind went blank. She could only blink at him foolishly.

“Hey, why are you doing that?”

“Did you hear something just now?”

If it had not been the distant voices of the guards, she probably would have continued acting like a fool.

The man, frozen as if time had stopped like Reyna, regained his senses first.

The man, no, her prince, stepped closer and whispered quietly.

“Be quiet.”

He placed a finger gently on his lips, and Reyna, caught off guard by how close his handsome face was, unconsciously held her breath and just nodded.

He bent his legs and lowered his body. Reyna followed, bending her knees as she watched his profile, keeping an eye on the direction from which the guards’ voices came.

Feeling her gaze, he suddenly looked back at her.

Their eyes were close. He seemed a little awkward and gave a tentative smile.

It was a shy, pure, boyish smile.

Reyna, staring blankly with her mouth open, felt her face heat up.

Her heart began to race wildly. She thought he might even hear it. Experiencing such a heartbeat for the first time, she did not even have time to feel embarrassed or look away.

In fact, he was the one who became flustered.

He blinked rapidly, stumbled slightly, and turned his head.

Reyna watched intently how his prominent Adam’s apple moved noticeably with each breath, and how his broad chest rose and fell occasionally.

Meanwhile, the voices of the approaching guards faded into the distance.

“Strange. I thought I heard something.”

“Probably just a small animal.”

Once again, only the sounds of insects and the distant noise of the banquet hall drifting on the wind filled the night.

He seemed cautious, or perhaps nervous, and did not move for a while.

Thanks to that, Reyna had the chance to study him thoroughly.

Her heart was still pounding, and she knew she was nervous. Yet a curious playfulness welled up inside her, and she whispered softly, almost unconsciously.

“They must have gone.”

This time, he jumped as if startled, shrugged his shoulders, and looked at her. Then, a moment later, he covered one ear with a hand and opened his mouth in surprise.

“…Ah.”

As far as Reyna knew, the prince was three years older than her. Despite his age, he looked rather naive, which somehow delighted her, and she laughed without realizing it.

The embarrassed prince straightened up and carefully extended his hand.

Reyna looked up at him with sparkling eyes and grabbed his hand firmly.

Perhaps she held too tightly. The strong hand felt warm and twitched slightly.

Reyna laughed again.

“Ha ha…”

This time, she could not help making a sound. He, embarrassed, let out a sigh-like laugh, whispering awkwardly.

“Quiet…”

Wanting to show him she was cooperative, Reyna quickly nodded obediently.

He started walking ahead.

Reyna hurried to follow him.

As she walked, her hair swaying gently in rhythm with his steps, he occasionally glanced back.

Each time, Reyna smiled brightly. She liked him, and instinctively hoped he liked her too.

He could not maintain eye contact for long and quickly looked straight ahead.

‘My, he must be shy.’

Her heart soared uncontrollably. When they finally left the garden, she felt a pang of regret.

When she finally faced him again under the shadow of the wall, Reyna looked up at him, full of expectation.

He paused as if choosing his words and said.

“You should not enter here.”

Reyna, like a well-behaved child, quickly nodded.

He pursed his lips slightly, trying to suppress a smile, and carefully asked.

“Who are you here to serve?”
