Summary
I thought all I had to do was avoid dying like I did in the original story, so why are they both acting like this toward me?
I transmigrated into 〈In a World of Despair〉, a harrowing, emotionally devastating BL novel.
And of all people, I became Frey Rubellia, the only person capable of curing the epidemic known as ‘Rosifer’. He dies under mysterious circumstances immediately after that fact becomes known.
I don’t know who the culprit is or why Frey was killed.
The only thing I know for certain is that if events follow the original story, I’ll die again.
So, there was only one answer.
Run away.
The moment I boldly climbed over the wall, however, I happened to fall straight into the arms of Duke Samuel Norbert, the man I was supposed to marry.
“That’s a rather suspicious route for an evening stroll.”
It would have been a relief if that were the end of it.
Regulus, the Imperial Crown Prince I couldn’t even remember, says that he, Samuel, and Frey have been friends since childhood. Both the Samuel I knew from the original story and Regulus, whose very existence I hadn’t known about, are strangely entangled with Frey’s past.
“Alright. Then focus on your feelings now, Frey.”
“Nothing about the past matters.”
A past that never appeared in the original story.
Memories that vanished indiscriminately.
Two men who know me far too well.
And even the novel’s plot is slowly beginning to veer off course.
Something about this transmigration seems to have been wrong from the very beginning.
