Swallow Hunting - Chapter 48.2
Hae-jun ran to the bathroom in his room and immediately splashed cold water on his face. Because his face felt burning hot as if it had been scalded, he looked in the mirror only to see a complexion that was the color of a thoroughly blanched octopus.
“…I’m going crazy.”
Hae-jun let out a thud as he bumped his forehead against the mirror. His heart was still pumping with a heavy thumping sound. There wasn’t a single spot—from his palms to the soles of his feet—where heat wasn’t rising.
“What do I do now?”
He felt as if something scarier than debt was about to happen. Hae-jun plunged his face into the sink filled with cold water as if to erase the ominous premonition.

After checking the call, Hae-jun furrowed his brow slightly and took off his helmet.
Most of the requests were usually one of two things. Either they asked him to leave the food at the door or to settle the payment in person.
However, those who gave money directly—though not all of them—had a high ratio of being difficult customers. They would make Hae-jun stand at the door to save on delivery fees and food costs somehow. There were times they would open the bag, rummage through the food, and find fault by claiming the portion was small or that one item was definitely missing.
After experiencing this once or twice, Hae-jun made sure to ask the owners for understanding and attached “tamper-evident” stickers all over the containers when going to places on his blacklist. Only then was there no trouble afterward.
But this time, it was a different type of nuisance. It was a story that circulated like a legend among delivery riders. They said that while the woman was receiving the food, the man was doing it from behind.
Hae-jun thought it was just lewd talk made up by bored people with nothing to do. That was, until he witnessed it with his own two eyes.
It was quite surprising that it wasn’t a man and a woman as the rumors suggested, but people of the same gender. Nevertheless, Hae-jun faithfully accepted the cash regardless of whether the men were stuck to each other in front of him or not, and quickly left the place before their semen could splash onto his body.
He couldn’t really say anything since he also spent nights with Lee Kang-ju, but this was the first time he had witnessed such a graphic sex scene in reality, and his mind was incredibly troubled. If he grabbed the handlebars in this state, he was certain he would get distracted and cause an accident. He stopped at a convenience store for a moment to calm himself down.
He couldn’t keep this kind of thing to himself. Since shock is halved when shared, Hae-jun contacted Yohan. He had only sent the word [Daebak], but Yohan happened to be nearby and came straight to the convenience store.
“Hey, that’s wild.”
“What are you even looking at to say that?”
“You know that story that was going around. About those two doing that while opening the door to get their food.”
“Yeah. There are surprisingly many people like that. Last time I went to a motel, I was told to wait outside. They said it makes them more excited or whatever. Crazy bastards.”
“They were both men.”
Yohan’s jaw dropped. Soon after, he let out a snort with a “ha.”
“Since when did our country become so desperate to show off homos having sex? The Land of Eastern Courtesy is fucking doomed.”
He didn’t know why the word “homo,” which usually wouldn’t have bothered him, felt so stinging. Hae-jun scratched his chest at the strange sensation before pulling his hand away.
“Good job dealing with such a sight.”
“Yeah. All sorts of crazy people who haven’t been discovered yet are living in this world.”
It was still vivid in his eyes. It was likely because it was a terrible scene that one would rarely see in a lifetime.
Hae-jun shuddered and grabbed a pack of cigarettes. There was nothing like nicotine for calming a restless heart.
Standing side by side with Yohan, he put a cigarette in his mouth. It was a comfortable time.
“How long are you going to stay there?”
Yohan spoke up when the cigarette had burned down halfway. Hae-jun raised his eyebrows and scratched the bridge of his nose with his thumb.
He was also curious about that. Lee Kang-ju had not yet told him to leave. Hae-jun also hadn’t asked about the progress of when the crazy guy living next door would be dealt with. He was stalling. Because if possible, he wanted to stay attached for as long as he could.
“I’ll have to leave when he tells me to.”
“I think it’s better for you to stay out of his sight.”
“What’s with you? You were the one telling me to rip him off. Why so sudden.”
“Because you have a soft heart.”
“Me?”
“Out of all the street walkers I know, you, Cha Hae-jun, are the most naive. You don’t know how to deceive people. You aren’t even good at seducing them.”
“I am good at that!”
Hae-jun shouted in irritation. “As if,” Yohan scoffed.
In this industry, Yohan had never seen anyone more simple-minded than Cha Hae-jun. Everyone else was desperate to squeeze even a single penny more out of a guest, but Hae-jun was weak to affection rather than money. If someone dropped a single piece of affection, he was the type who would get enchanted and pull out both his liver and gallbladder, telling them to take it all.
