Other than some scratches from glass fragments on his back, Jae-gyeong was unharmed. Swallowing tears of emotion, he shook his head.

“I am fine…!”

He wanted to tell everything, how he had encountered a monster resembling Jeong Jeong-eon and monsters mimicking Da-sol and Yi-hyeon.

But that was just an impulsive feeling of relief. In reality, they were not that close yet, and Jae-gyeong knew the priority was clearing the dungeon. So he stayed silent and quietly approached Jeong Jeong-eon.

“How did you know this spot is closest to the exit…?”

When Jae-gyeong asked, Hee-ro, standing behind Jeong Jeong-eon, answered for him.

“Jeong Jeong-eon is a Runic Caster. If you ask the mirror monsters, they tell you everything. The higher intelligence of the mirror monsters actually made the runic magic more effective. Our Jeong Jeong-eon really is the best.”

Hee-ro hugged Jeong Jeong-eon from behind and kissed the back of his neck. Jeong Jeong-eon’s face flushed bright red.

“Hee-ro, we should do this outside, outside…”

Hee-ro rested his face on Jeong Jeong-eon’s shoulder while holding him from behind. Then he spoke to Jae-gyeong.

“But these monsters won’t bother us anymore. They know that if they face Jeong Jeong-eon, they are done for. Even if they try to copy his runic magic, their rank is lower, so their stats are weaker. That’s why they don’t appear in front of us. After joining with Jeong Jeong-eon, finding monsters has actually become harder.”

So that was why more of them had appeared in front of Jae-gyeong consecutively, perhaps to quickly eliminate whoever remained. The thought sent a chill down his spine. He forced himself to suppress the urge to cling to Jeong Jeong-eon and nodded.

“I see. Then… to clear the monsters and find the exit, someone will need to act as bait separately.”

At Jae-gyeong’s words, Hee-ro snapped his fingers decisively.

“That’s what I meant. Of course, Jeong Jeong-eon is excluded, and the healer Da-sol and the guard hunter Yi-hyeon are also excluded. We need to choose one from the remaining offensive types.”

Jeong Jeong-eon realized that Hee-ro secretly liked how quick-witted Jae-gyeong was. And Jeong Jeong-eon liked Jae-gyeong as well. Even with his timid nature, Jae-gyeong had survived safely as a hunter thanks to his judgment, quick reflexes, and carefulness. His becoming the new tank of Training Guild Team 1 was certainly a favorable development.

Jeong Jeong-eon, Da-sol, and Yi-hyeon stepped back, while Ye-jin and Ri-na flattened themselves sideways and moved forward. The four offensive hunters shouted simultaneously with serious expressions.

“Rock, paper, scissors!”

“Alright!! I won, right?”

Ri-na raised her scissors excitedly. Coincidentally, the others who had thrown paper reluctantly played again.

“Wow… Go, Jae-gyeong.”

“Jae-gyeong, you’re doing great.”

Jae-gyeong lost instantly to the other two in the second round by choosing scissors alone. He quietly smiled through his moist eyes.

“I expected this, it’s fine…”

He was not normally lucky, and since the mirror monsters were already underestimating him, this was actually beneficial. Convincing himself of that, he bowed slightly to the remaining team members and moved forward alone, drawing a line on the mirror with magic as well.

He felt piercing gazes from behind, but assumed it was just the six of them combined, and turned the corner.

About ten seconds after he disappeared, Da-sol suddenly spoke.

“I want to go too.”

“Huh?”

Ri-na looked at Da-sol as if she had imagined it. Yi-hyeon’s eyes widened.

“Th-then I’ll come too—”

“No, we don’t need a guard hunter separately if we’re with Jae-gyeong. I’ll go too. It feels odd to send him alone. All the monsters will converge on Jae-gyeong Hunter, so healing will be necessary.”

With that, Da-sol pushed the team members in front of him aside and followed Jae-gyeong around the corner.

Hee-ro and Jeong Jeong-eon looked at each other in astonishment. There was no time to stop him, and even if they tried, he would not have listened. The most surprising part was that Da-sol had stepped forward to help Jae-gyeong first. The normally mechanical Da-sol, who always wanted to stay in the rear!

“What is happening right now, Jeong Jeong-eon…?”

“I-I also find it hard to explain. The training camp really seems to have worked well.”

“Is it okay to let him go like that?”

Yi-hyeon asked worriedly, but the other team members were too shocked to respond properly.

And Da-sol, shocking everyone, quickly caught up to Jae-gyeong.
