That Face Is the Problem - Chapter 47.2
“That’s obvious…!”
Jae-gyeong exclaimed timidly. ‘What kind of guy is he…?’ Jae-gyeong felt sorry for Da-sol, who had gotten such a troublesome neighbor.
“If it’s not inconvenient, would you like to stay at my place? I can go stay at the guild dorm…”
Jae-gyeong suggested thoughtfully, meaning that Da-sol could be more comfortable if he stayed elsewhere. Da-sol looked at Jae-gyeong as if he were observing a rare fool.
“If you go to the dorm, I’ll go. Why would hunter Jeong Jae-gyeong… ha, never mind.”
Da-sol walked into the dark house and sat on Jae-gyeong’s sofa as if it were his own home.
“Sorry for coming even though I told you to come to me if anything happened.”
Da-sol said quietly. Jae-gyeong was inwardly surprised that he could apologize naturally.
“Surprised I’m apologizing now?”
“…Ah, no…?”
Does he have mind-reading powers?
“I’m not a mind reader, so don’t worry. It’s just that I can see right through you. It’s obvious I like being here, so don’t make it too obvious.”
Da-sol said, sounding slightly annoyed. Jae-gyeong held his breath for a moment. How did he know in the dark? He decided to manage his expression carefully and held his hands politely together.
“Shall I get you a drink? Ah… but the fridge power’s out too…”
“They’re sending ice-type and electricity-type hunters soon,” Da-sol said.
Apparently, even the building staff were hunters, and among them were hunters specializing in ice and electricity classes.
“I just came by because I thought you’d be curious why the power went out. I’ll stay until the building staff arrive.”
“Uh… you can stay here if you want, really…”
“Do I have to? It will take a long time to repair this place. This house won’t be fixed immediately. The building staff will only temporarily handle it.”
Da-sol paused after speaking and seemed lost in thought.
“Do you want to come to the dorm with me? Would that be better?”
“Uh… that… is that okay…?”
“Why not? We’ve already lived here for a week. The rooms are separate. It’s better than here. This apartment is a mess… should move or something.”
Jae-gyeong pretended not to hear Da-sol’s last curse and felt a little excited.
“Just bring your wallet and phone. Everything else you need is there.”
Da-sol said casually. Jae-gyeong went into the room, grabbed his wallet and phone, and then sat carefully at a distance beside Da-sol.
“We only need to stay until the building staff arrive…”
“…Yes.”
“I actually thought the dorm would be nicer than here. Can a team member live there?”
“I don’t know,” Da-sol answered vaguely, then added after a moment.
“But I think it should be fine. Hunter Jeong Jeong-eon stayed there for a few months before.”
“Oh, I’ve heard…”
“Or Hyeon Hee-ro… no, ask the guild master. Team 1 members probably have to leave the guild building.”
“Oh, okay…”
A long silence followed. A quiet pause fitting for two people who were not talkative.
Jae-gyeong nervously sweated, wondering what to say. He was relieved to be staying with Da-sol again for a short while. Should he ask where the dorm was? Would it sound stalker-like? If he mentioned thinking Da-sol was a ghost, Da-sol would probably treat him like an idiot. His thoughts tangled in his head. Da-sol spoke first.
“At the mirror dungeon…”
Jae-gyeong was startled but tried to hide his expression in the darkness. He did not expect Da-sol to bring the topic up again.
“Thanks for not asking why I acted so unusually. Even if you asked, I wouldn’t have answered.”
“Oh, no…”
“But people who don’t ask naturally make me want to tell them.”
Da-sol scratched the back of his head and began speaking in a calm voice.
“I was almost raped once by some guys. Luckily it didn’t happen, but photos were taken, and rumors spread at school. Some of those guys even dropped out, some got beaten badly. After I awakened, I tracked some down and spent several days alternating between healing and beating them.”
“Ah… oh…”
Not knowing what to say, Jae-gyeong could only respond awkwardly. It was a heavy topic that was impossible to empathize with or criticize casually. He was unfamiliar with Da-sol sharing such trauma so suddenly.
Even more surprising was that he was sharing such personal stories with Jae-gyeong. Jae-gyeong did not know what to do and simply mirrored Da-sol’s calm expression.
“I’m telling you this because…”
