“Don’t you know how that girl looked at me?”

“I know, I know, but—”

“Then why are you arranging a meeting? Are you telling me to marry that woman too, then?”

At those words, Jae-gyeong flinched. What did this mean? Mr. Da-sol getting married…? As he stared at Da-in and Da-sol with wide eyes, Da-in smiled beautifully and explained.

“It seems the younger sister of my husband-to-be is somewhat interested in Da-sol. That sister’s name is Nam-ju. But you know how it is, just seeing a face briefly and harboring a fantasy. I think if they actually meet, talk, and she gets to know his personality, it’ll be resolved immediately. Hehehe… you know what I mean, don’t you, Hunter?”

After that, Da-in snapped her gaze toward Da-sol.

“Do you really think I asked to have a meal just to arrange that kind of setup for you? I don’t want to be rude to Nam-hyeon’s younger sister either. That’s why I’m asking to have a meal in a place where both Nam-hyeon and I will be present. Do you seriously not understand your Noona’s intentions?”

Her voice was sweet as could be, but Da-in’s eyes were almost as terrifying as Da-sol’s when he was angry. Jae-gyeong truly discovered for the first time that Da-in was capable of making such an expression.

‘Just because you’ve liked someone for a long time doesn’t mean you can know everything about them…’

Realizing this anew, Jae-gyeong nodded to himself. Da-sol caught that action of Jae-gyeong’s.

“What are you nodding for? Are you telling me to listen to my Noona? Coming at such a perfect time and witnessing all sorts of things, Hunter Jeong Jae-gyeong.”

At Da-sol’s fiercely sarcastic remark, Jae-gyeong and Da-in were startled at the same time. Jae-gyeong was startled because he was misunderstood, and Da-in was startled by her younger brother’s manner of speaking.

“Is he out of his mind… ahem, Hunter, please excuse us for a moment. Da-sol, shall we talk in the room with Noona for a second?”

“I don’t want to.”

“Follow me.”

With that, Da-in grabbed Da-sol by the collar almost as if yanking it off, pulled him into the bedroom, and closed the door. In an instant, Jae-gyeong was left all alone, sitting blankly on the sofa.

Though he didn’t know how they were communicating, he couldn’t hear a single thing about what kind of conversation Da-in and Da-sol were sharing. However, when the siblings emerged from the room about three minutes later, Da-in was wearing a bright, fresh smile, and Da-sol had closed his mouth, wearing his usual dead-fish eyes.

“Hehehe, I’m sorry for showing you this side of us. If I had known you were here, Hunter, I would have contacted you before coming… but Da-sol doesn’t really look at his phone well, you know. I’ll be going now. Take care of your business before you leave~ Stay well. And contact me if you happen to want a wedding invitation, okay?”

Da-in smiled radiantly until the very end as she left.

“No, I should just head out together—”

“Where do you think you’re heading out together, Hunter Jeong Jae-gyeong. Just stay. You must have come because you have something to say.”

Da-sol spoke in a tone less fierce than before, but through clenched teeth (this was incredibly similar to Da-in’s manner of speaking).

Jae-gyeong, who had been stealthily standing up to follow Da-in out, slithered right back down onto the sofa.

The moment Da-in closed the door and departed, Da-sol’s head turned toward Jae-gyeong like a killer robot, click-click-click. Jae-gyeong swallowed hard, wiped away the sweat droplets that suddenly surged up with the back of his hand, and stared elsewhere for no reason.

“Hunter Jeong Jeong-eon… no, Hunter Jeong Jae-gyeong.”

Da-sol called Jae-gyeong calmly. Jae-gyeong replied while still looking elsewhere.

“Yes…?”

His voice cracked comically, but neither of them laughed.

“Let me ask you just one thing.”

“…What…?”

“By any chance, was the person you said you used to like… our Noona?”

“…………”

A long silence flowed. While Jae-gyeong was at a total loss, not knowing how to reply, Da-sol let out a smirk.

“Seeing as you can’t answer, it must be right.”

“….”

“Then the way you teared up and acted ridiculous when you first saw me must have been because I reminded you of Noona, right?”

“….”

“Those eyes you were showing me were also because of Noona, not me, looking at it now?”

“….”

He couldn’t deny a single thing. And his silence became a completely affirmative answer, stabbing deeply into Da-sol’s chest.

“There’s no need to ask anything else, then.”

Jae-gyeong didn’t know what the other question Da-sol was planning to ask was, but he agreed. Because his mouth was stuck tight as if glued shut and wouldn’t open.

“Earlier, you said it felt like we’ve gotten closer, right?”

Da-sol asked a different question.

“Did you intentionally approach me because I resemble Noona, by any chance?”

“Ah, no, it’s not like that!!”

That was truly not the case. Crying out in frustration, Jae-gyeong stood up from the sofa. Water overflowed from the glass he was holding. Flustered, Jae-gyeong set the water glass down and wiped the floor with the hem of his clothes.

“Then what was with those eyes from earlier.”

Da-sol’s chilling voice pierced down from above. Jae-gyeong, who had been wiping the water spilled on the floor, lifted his head. Having continuously looked away, the face of Da-sol he finally saw was the coldest and fiercest he had ever seen up until now.

“I… I…”

Jae-gyeong was at a complete loss for words.
