At Hee-ro’s order, Jae-gyeong spread his wings and soared into the air. Ri-na shot more arrows toward the other pterodactyls, and Ye-jin cast an attack spell toward a pack of ‘Murder Boars (B)’ that were swarming out from the direction the monkeys had come.

Meanwhile, Jeong-eon was continuously scanning the dungeon’s layout and checking to ensure no other monsters popped out from blind spots, and Yi-hyeon stood directly back-to-back with Da-sol to prepare against any unexpected attacks.

And Da-sol… was only looking at the sky. To be precise, he was looking at the holy knight who was ruthlessly firing his arm-cannon with a face like an angel, sporting massive wings like an archangel.

Since their relationship was currently bad, there was a high probability that this time, whether Jae-gyeong got hurt or not, he wouldn’t ask for a heal.

However, Da-sol had seen the ring on Jae-gyeong’s thumb earlier. It was the exact same ring that Da-sol was also wearing on his right thumb.

‘Annoying.’

If anyone believed that his mood had softened the exact moment he saw it, who would actually believe those words? But really, the moment Da-sol saw that Jae-gyeong was wearing the ring, his heart melted right away. It was an utterly absurd thing.

‘He brought it… wearing it to use it, right?’

Though he kept watching out of worry, the fact that Jae-gyeong had worn the ring itself felt like proof that he hadn’t forgotten about the heal priority, which set his mind at ease.

‘Jeong Jae-gyeong is the biggest fool of all fools, so it feels like if I don’t look after him, things won’t work out. It really feels like he’s going to die.’

The death of Jae-gyeong that Jeong-eon had once spoken of like a prophecy also weighed on his mind. And the more he got to know Jae-gyeong, it truly felt like he might die while sacrificing himself for others—especially for Da-sol. Although he had now found out that it wasn’t purely because Jae-gyeong liked Da-sol but because of Da-in… fuck, anyway, that was how it was.

Perhaps because Jae-gyeong was also of a somewhat similar type to Jeong-eon, Da-sol kept worrying. No matter how annoying or disliked he was, he didn’t want Jae-gyeong to die.

No… actually, while it was true he was annoying, it wasn’t that he disliked him either.

Da-sol bit his chapped lips. That was the problem. The fact that he didn’t dislike that foolish guy anymore. That his eyes kept tracking him, and that he kept worrying. The fact that the reality of Jae-gyeong seeing Seo Da-in in him had become annoying.

Jae-gyeong successfully eliminated the pack of pterodactyls and came down. Ri-na approached Jae-gyeong and initiated a high-five. He awkwardly bumped palms with her.

“I think our teamwork is kkae-gwaen?” (Note: slang for ‘pretty decent’)

“Kkae-gaeng?” (Note: Jae-gyeong mishears it as a whimpering sound)

Seeing how Jae-gyeong wasn’t unlikable but rather funny even while spouting that kind of nonsense, Da-sol had certainly grown fond of him. Da-sol let out a sigh and averted his gaze. There was no longer a need to keep watching Jae-gyeong.

Just then, Ye-jin shrieked.

“Everyone! Look at that over there! Beneath the boars!”

Murder Viper (A)

From beneath the few remaining Murder Boars, a swarm of Murder Vipers slithered and rushed forward. Each individual one was thick, heavy, massive, and long like an anaconda, looking more like a dragon than a snake.

“Ah, goosebumps! Fuck! It’s so damn scary!!”

Ri-na made a huge fuss and hurriedly clung to Jae-gyeong’s back. Having unexpectedly ended up carrying Ri-na on his back, Jae-gyeong folded his wings. Da-sol’s gaze snapped right back toward Jae-gyeong.

‘What’s up with that Yoo Ri-na? Why the fuck is she piggybacking on him?’

Da-sol flared up and glared at Ri-na.

“Ugh! Guild Master! I want to go home! It’s so damn scary! I think this is the scariest moment since I was born! What do we do! Save meee!”

Ri-na began to wail in fear at the swarm of Murder Vipers that were sliding their bellies toward them like transcendental beings.

“Healer-nim, shouldn’t I give you a piggyback ride too? This looks truly dangerous!”

From behind, Yi-hyeon spoke in an equally terrified voice. However, Da-sol, who normally watched animal documentaries frequently and wasn’t particularly afraid of snakes, remained calm.

“Forget it. Just block them when they try to attack.”

Because Da-sol acted so calmly, Yi-hyeon quieted down as well. He seemed impressed by Da-sol’s attitude. Da-sol could feel him sending a look of admiration from the side, but he ignored it completely. Rather, his attention was entirely focused on Jae-gyeong at the very front, who was carrying Ri-na on his back.

Jae-gyeong slipped his arm inside one of Ri-na’s thighs to support her firmly and aimed his arm-cannon toward the swarm of vipers.

“Hold on tight…”

Warning her listlessly, Jae-gyeong fired his arm-cannon. Boom! An immense bullet dropped over the giant snakes. Several heads could be seen disintegrating and flying into the air, and a few that escaped death could also be seen lifting their heads in rage.

“Now, everyone calm down.”

Hee-ro stood beside Jae-gyeong and created a massive barrier of water. He turned back to look at his lover standing at the very rear.

“Mr. Jeong-eon , I ask for your help here.”
