Until Da-sol came out and changed his clothes, Jae-gyeong stayed inside his bedroom with the door shut. He kept pacing around the room in circles, pinching his own cheeks and slapping them with both hands. It was only natural that he stroked the lips he had kissed earlier.

After a while, the sound of Da-sol knocking on the door could be heard from outside.

“Are you in here?”

“Ah, yes…!”

Jae-gyeong hurriedly opened the door. The moment he opened it, he came face-to-face with Da-sol, who was looking up at him from right in front of him. Both of their faces flushed red simultaneously.

“The clothes… I’ll wash them tomorrow and return them to you.”

“Ah, yes… Are you leaving…?”

“Well, it’s not like we’re going to do anything more here…”

“Ah… what about coffee…? Ah, since you were just discharged from the hospital, coffee might not be great, so would you like some tea or something…?”

“What kind do you have?”

Instead of just saying a single word that they didn’t want to part ways, the two of them beat around the bush endlessly, eventually starting to awkwardly rummage through the cupboards in the house to look for types of tea.

“There’s Solomon’s seal tea… and this one is tangerine tea…”

“Oh, tangerine tea.”

The combination of Da-sol, who wasn’t throwing a temper at someone, and Jae-gyeong, who was trying to hold onto someone, was so uncharacteristic that it was practically goosebump-inducing. Even so, they desperately ignored their own unfamiliar selves and focused entirely on selecting a tea.

In the end, Jae-gyeong chose tangerine tea, and Da-sol chose chamomile tea. Even though it was nothing more than steeping tea bags, Jae-gyeong made the tea with great care and placed it on the dining table.

“…”

“…”

However, another obstacle quickly arrived. They sat facing each other, but strangely, they had nothing to say. Unable to even meet each other’s eyes properly and not knowing what they should say, their minds were a complete blank.

Right then, Jae-gyeong came up with the idea that he should mention that this just now was his first kiss, and that it had been wonderful. In his opinion, if he said this, Da-sol would be absolutely delighted. So, he did exactly that.

“Um… that just now was, well… my first kiss… It was wonderful…”

Hmm.

After saying it, it didn’t exactly feel like a good choice. Jae-gyeong instantly regretted it.

Seeing Da-sol’s face color a deeper and deeper shade of red upon hearing his words, his regret deepened. ‘Why on earth did I think Mr. Da-sol would like it if I said this? Jae-gyeong, why?’

But at that moment, Da-sol spoke.

“…That just now was my first kiss too, and it was nice. It didn’t give me goosebumps… and it didn’t make me feel like vomiting either… on the contrary… Well, looking at me going to the bathroom earlier, you’d know even without me saying it.”

Jae-gyeong’s face brightened up in a flash. ‘Good job, Jae-gyeong! It was a good choice after all!’

“R-Right? I didn’t know kissing was this wonderful either…! Every time the Guild Master and the Association President stuck together and smooched, I felt envious but honestly wished they’d cut it out. But now that I’ve tried it myself, I think I finally understand why they did that…!”

“Those people are exceptions. They stick together far too excessively. We are different from lovebugs like them.”

“I-Is that so…?”

“We are much more sensible and logical.”

“Ye-Yes…”

Jae-gyeong didn’t exactly think so, but he blindly nodded his head regardless. It was because he found Da-sol’s boastful way of speaking quite cute, making him feel like he had to chime in agreement, and also because he felt Da-sol would glare at him terrifyingly if he opposed.

Right then, Da-sol hesitated before speaking.

“But… I do agree with the statement that kissing is nicer than expected.”

“Pfft…”

“What is it?”

“Ah, n-no… I’m just happy too… haha…”

Laughter leaked out naturally, and Jae-gyeong—who had been rolling and biting his lips to hold it back—ultimately burst into a foolish grin. ‘Mr. Da-sol said he liked the kiss he shared with me…! That Mr. Da-sol!’

Da-sol let out a sigh and spoke resolutely.

“First of all, since things turned out like this, we have no choice but to date.”

“D-Date…!”

Jae-gyeong was deeply moved, feeling completely overwhelmed by the word ‘dating,’ when Da-sol continued his words.

“I don’t believe in the kind of bullshit the Guild Master spouts—like how you have to poke around here and there like a rag and meet various people to truly recognize your destiny and settle down. Throughout their lives, human beings must carefully select a relationship to which they will remain faithful, and live for the sake of their partner. Like wolves.”

“W-Wolves…?”

The sudden mention of wolves was rather out of the blue, but Da-sol was completely serious.

“I view dating as a matter of loyalty rather than love. I believe the monogamous system of wolves is the relationship format that humans should aim for. What do you think, Hunter Jeong Jae-gyeong?”

“Uh… well. That would certainly be nice, wouldn’t it…? If we only look at each other for the rest of our lives…”

Jae-gyeong’s voice trailed off as he lowered his eyes. His face and ears were bright red, as if he had actually visualized living with Da-sol for the rest of his life.

Da-sol smiled faintly. Did Jeong Jae-gyeong have any idea that exactly what he was thinking was completely visible? He really is an idiot.
