That Face Is the Problem - Chapter 86.2
“Then… what are you going to do…?”
“What do you mean what am I going to do? I’m going to beat the shit out of them.”
“You can’t go around beating people…!”
Da-sol shut his mouth for a moment and fell into deep thought. But soon, he shook his head.
“No, beating those bastards is the answer. They won’t understand if you talk to them.”
“Mr. Da-sol, what are you going to do if you really get a fine or community service for that…!”
High-level healers generally don’t go to jail even if they commit crimes. This was an implicit, globally common rule.
Because each individual high-level healer was equivalent to a national weapon, unless they committed a felony so grave it shook the world, they usually received fines or community service. If it were worse, they would be forced to run dungeons endlessly to produce mana stones and byproducts for the state.
Since Da-sol was an A-class healer, it was highly likely he would just end up with a fine and community service. But even if it seemed relatively light, it wasn’t pleasant for his lover(!) to receive such punishment.
As genuine worry appeared on Jae-gyeong’s face, Da-sol lightly tapped his shoulder.
“Don’t worry. I have a lot of money. I’ve paid plenty of fines before.”
‘Is that something you can say “don’t worry” about so confidently?’ Jae-gyeong squeezed his eyes shut. ‘Mr. Da-sol is really fearless in these areas.’
It seemed he was even more bellicose and fearless than physical-type hunters. There were a few crazy hunters obsessed with rankings, but most received brainwashing-level education telling them, “Since you are an attack-type, you must be careful when dealing with others.”
As a healer, Da-sol wouldn’t have received such teachings, and since it was rare for a healer to believe in their fists this much, he seemed to think of violence as an easier solution. It was the same regarding the sexual harassment he had faced…
“Mr. Da-sol….”
Jae-gyeong summoned his courage and called Da-sol.
“Please don’t use those fists in the future…. If you hit someone, your own knuckles will get scraped…. I’ll handle my own business well, so you don’t have to worry, Mr. Da-sol…. So you don’t need to hit people, get stressed, and all that because of me….”
‘What is this?’ Da-sol doubted his ears. ‘Is Jeong Jae-gyeong actually an angel? If I hit someone, will my knuckles get scraped?’
“I usually start with a knee kick anyway. It’s more advantageous to start by hitting their vital points. I’m small, you see.”
“…For the same reason, please don’t use your knees….”
‘So I can’t use my knees either. It’s not like my knees would get scraped from kicking someone in the balls.’
As Da-sol became secretly disappointed, Jae-gyeong burst into laughter, as if the situation were absurd. Da-sol’s mood instantly brightened at his laughing face. Even he was amazed at how quickly his mood swung; this kind of mood swing was fascinating. ‘What is this? Is it always like this when you start dating?’
Da-sol explained quietly, in as kind a tone as possible.
“I’m saying I’ll hit them if they’re the ones who were wrong first. Violence is faster than words for petty harassment. And I’m the type who gets stress relief when I hit someone. If my knuckles get scraped, I can just self-heal. You really don’t need to worry.”
‘How persuasive and kind!’ Da-sol learned for the first time that he could speak so long and gently. They hadn’t been dating for long, but he even felt proud, thinking he had grown through this relationship.
Meanwhile, Jae-gyeong was crushed by the reality that Da-sol was so accustomed to violence, and he slowly closed his eyes.
That violence is more fundamental than conversation or the law had become a basic rule of sorts since entering the world of hunters, but Jae-gyeong absolutely hated such things. It was even more so because he had seen too many instances of hunters ranking each other, commodifying themselves, and fighting tooth and nail to step on one another.
Of course, the violence Da-sol preferred wasn’t that kind, but was closer to direct retribution and punishment. However, Jae-gyeong wanted Da-sol to rely on something other than throwing himself into venting his momentary anger through violence. Whether that be the law, his teammates, or… himself, his lover.
Da-sol seemed to want Jae-gyeong to live just as he was, but Jae-gyeong wanted Da-sol’s mind to change to a more comfortable place.
‘What can I do to achieve that? Is there even such a way?’
He didn’t know yet, but thinking didn’t cost anything. Besides, plotting such things out of love for Da-sol was, to Jae-gyeong, no different from a pleasure.
He looked at Da-sol with affection. As soon as Da-sol met those tender gray eyes, he turned his face away bluntly.
“Even if you look at me like that, I’m going to beat up anyone who deserves it immediately.”
“Haha… yes, do as you like….”
“Geez.”
