The Saint Wants to Rest - Chapter 13.2
Yoon Tae-gyeom picked up a piece of meat from the grill and placed it on Ian’s plate. Only after doing so did he begin eating the remaining pieces himself.
“I’ve already eaten plenty.”
When Ian tried to give it back, Yoon Tae-gyeom refused.
“No, you like meat. Eat more. You’ve gotten quite thin.”
In reality, Ian had simply lost some of his childhood baby fat, but it seemed none of them saw it that way. After being forced to eat even the vegetables Choi Jae-heon insisted on, Ian soon began to doze off, his head nodding.
“Go inside and sleep.”
“What about you, Hyung?”
When Ian asked with flickering eyes, Choi Jae-heon answered.
“I’m going to eat a little more before I head in.”
It was a suspicious answer in many ways.
‘I feel like something is up.’
Ian decided to give them their space. He figured the older men had a lot they wanted to discuss.
“Okay, then I’ll go in first.”
“Make sure you brush your teeth before bed.”
“Yes, sir!”
Ian let out a yawn and headed into the house. Only after confirming the door was completely shut did Yoon Tae-gyeom lightly cast a barrier made of water. Now, for the most part, sound would not leak out.
“Why don’t you tell us more about that madman?”
Hong Seo-yun picked up a bottle and poured some soju into a glass. Yoon Tae-gyeom calmly explained about Vermouth to the two of them. The mysterious man, a new S-rank Awakened who had appeared in South Korea, claimed to be from another world.
“The timing overlaps with when Ian appeared.”
At those words, Hong Seo-yun’s eyes narrowed. He knew for a fact that Ian had to initiate physical contact to use his abilities. Because of that, he didn’t have a favorable view of this Vermouth who supposedly came from the same world.
“Could that bastard be the one?”
The words slipped out of his mouth before he could stop them, drawing the sharp gazes of Choi Jae-heon and Yoon Tae-gyeom toward him.
“Could he be what?”
“No, it’s just… Ian uses his abilities differently than before.”
“Did he awaken?”
“Yeah, but there’s a condition attached to using his power.”
Hong Seo-yun downed the soju he had poured into his water cup in one go. He could already picture the disaster that was about to unfold, but he had no intention of running away.
“What is it?”
“Physical contact.”
The expression on Choi Jae-heon’s face contorted instantly.
“Did Ian tell you that himself?”
At Choi Jae-heon’s follow-up question, Hong Seo-yun’s eyes darted around nervously.
“He did mention it, and…”
He probably could have kept his mouth shut here, but Hong Seo-yun simply wasn’t built that way. As a man who was practically the incarnation of honesty, he ended up telling them everything that happened when he first met Ian.
Yoon Tae-gyeom remained calm since he already knew the story, but Choi Jae-heon was a different matter. The water barrier began to ripple violently, reacting to Choi Jae-heon’s surging power.
“Are you planning to kill him?”
Choi Jae-heon glared coldly at Hong Seo-yun.
“If you’re going to do it, take him to the mountain out back. It’ll be easier to bury him there.”
Hong Seo-yun gnashed his teeth at Yoon Tae-gyeom’s helpful suggestion before prostrating himself flat on the ground.
“It wasn’t intentional!”
In fact, Ian had been the one to initiate the kiss first.
“Seo-yun.”
“Hey, why are you dropping the honorifics? You’re scaring me.”
“My younger brother is still young.”
“I know, I know. He’s just a baby!”
“He probably doesn’t know anything.”
That wasn’t true. Ian was actually quite well-versed in that department. He had been given plenty of opportunities to encounter various “audiovisual materials” back in the other world. However, the men sitting here were currently unaware of that.
“So, the adults need to behave themselves.”
“…I will do my best.”
Hong Seo-yun knelt on the ground, looking thoroughly dejected.
“This won’t happen again, right?”
Yoon Tae-gyeom added his own warning to Choi Jae-heon’s demand.
“It better not.”
“I’ll make sure it doesn’t!”
“Fine. Let’s stop talking about this for now. Then, the next thing.”
“About that guy Vermouth.”
Hong Seo-yun raised his hand high.
“I don’t think that guy and Ian should ever meet!”
“For once, I actually agree with his opinion.”
For the first time in a long while, Yoon Tae-gyeom and Hong Seo-yun were in perfect agreement.
“Me too.”
For those reasons, after much discussion, the three of them decided to keep Ian’s existence hidden. Seeing as Vermouth was trying to become famous, it seemed he couldn’t find Ian on his own power yet. As long as they remained cautious, there would be no reason for the two to meet.
“I’ll keep a close eye on Vermouth,” Yoon Tae-gyeom vowed, pushing up his glasses with his finger.
“I’m counting on you.”
When Choi Jae-heon said that, Yoon Tae-gyeom’s pride visibly swelled.
