“A guy like that deserves to be executed by dismemberment!”

Hong Seo-yun had turned the TV on for Ian in case he got bored, but after watching for a while, Ian understood why people sought these shows out. They were provocative and intense, yet strangely entertaining. Curses naturally spilled out of his mouth the entire time he watched, but he couldn’t tear his eyes away.

Hong Seo-yun watched Ian with narrowed eyes.

“Ian.”

“Yeah.”

“How about going outside for a walk once in a while?”

“I don’t want to. A very important scene is happening right now.”

On the screen, the legal wife and the mistress simultaneously slapped the man across the face.

-You madman, just choose one person!

-You said you only loved me!

He deserved to be hit. However, in the previous drama, someone had slapped a person with a piece of kimchi; this current scene felt a bit weak in comparison. It seemed there were no sponsored products for this episode. Ian now perfectly understood the mechanics of Korean dramas.

The cheating man struggled until the very end, but the legal wife, a former wrestler, put him in a headlock. Then, another woman leapt into the air, driving her elbow down into the fallen man. It was absolute chaos.

It was much like Ian’s current situation.

“The kid has turned strange. Fine, just rest. Rest all you want.”

Hong Seo-yun ruffled Ian’s hair and refilled the potato chip container that had become empty without anyone noticing.

“Cola, too.”

He could see the boy getting a bit plump, but what did it matter? He had to relieve his stress somehow. Hong Seo-yun shook his head and headed to the kitchen to fetch more soda.

Only after Hong Seo-yun disappeared did Ian let out the sigh he had been holding back. He had thought deeply while resting here. At one point, he had even suffered a fever because he used his brain too much.

Vermouth was a problem, but Choi Jae-heon was equally challenging.

“No, why so suddenly?”

They had spent all this time getting along as older and younger brothers. He felt depressed, wondering if he was the only one who had truly viewed their bond as family. However, considering the sacrifices Choi Jae-heon had made for Ian in the past, he couldn’t simply ignore him. In those days, they were undeniably family.

Choi Jae-heon’s brother complex had always been extreme, but Ian thought it was natural since they were family. Ian himself would have sacrificed everything for his brother, though Choi Jae-heon never gave him the chance.

That made it all the more awkward.

“Here’s your cola.”

A new bottle of cola appeared in front of Ian.

“Hyung. You, I mean. Did you know?”

“So sudden? What am I supposed to know?”

“I received a confession from my brother.”

Hong Seo-yun blinked at the words Ian spat out as if vomiting them up. As expected, this man was terrible at lying.

“You knew.”

This time, Ian narrowed his eyes and glared at Hong Seo-yun.

“Well, I mean. The topic came up while we were drinking the other day.”

It seemed Hong Seo-yun had no intention of hiding it either.

“I found out then.”

Ian didn’t press him on why he hadn’t mentioned it. If it was the day they were drinking, it was the day the reporters had swarmed them. Even if Hong Seo-yun had intended to tell him, there wouldn’t have been enough time.

“Anyway, so, what do you think?”

“Whose side are you even on, Hyung?”

“I’m on both of your sides!”

Hong Seo-yun shouted confidently.

“One is my friend and the other is my younger brother. How can I take only one person’s side?”

Right, this was exactly the kind of personality this man had.

“But this isn’t right!”

“What isn’t right?”

“We were family, so how can he be like that?”

“Um, Ian.”

“What!”

“You’re scared right now, aren’t you? Scared that your family will break apart?”

“There’s that, too. And I’ve never once looked at Hyung as that kind of person.”

Hong Seo-yun felt as if he might be hurt by such a blunt statement. However, he could understand Ian’s perspective. After living as a family for so long, it would be baffling to suddenly be told that someone loves you sexually.

‘I need to do something here.’

Hong Seo-yun began to rack his brain desperately.

“He was very confused too. And from my perspective, that guy has only looked at you since you were much younger. They call it a brother complex, but who acts that tenderly toward a younger brother? Normal younger brothers, well, they play around at home like that.”

He pointed toward the man on the screen who was still getting beaten up.

“Calling each other names is the basic standard, and they’re usually too embarrassed to even call each other by name.”

“How do you know that, Hyung?”

“That’s how it is in other houses. Think about it, think about how Choi Jae-heon has treated you all this time.”

He was kind and gentle. He wanted to send Ian to university, so he had tried to suppress his own outstanding talents. Even though Choi Jae-heon was young himself, he worked late every single day for Ian’s sake.

That was precisely why Ian’s heart was in such turmoil. Ian shut his mouth tight.

“Take your time and think it over.”

Leaving those words behind, Hong Seo-yun gave Ian time to think alone.
