However, Ian watched the movie with a composed expression throughout.

‘This is less exciting than I thought.’

Perhaps because he had experienced so many spectacular events in Lancia, this level of action didn’t provide much of a thrill. It seemed to be the same for Vermouth. The face watching the flashing screen wasn’t much different from Ian’s. However, since that face itself was beyond standard, watching it was actually more interesting.

‘He’s handsome.’

As Ian watched him, a thought occurred: should he play a little prank? Ian gently raised his hand and tapped the back of Vermouth’s hand. At that, Vermouth, who had been staring only at the screen, turned his gaze toward Ian.

“Is the movie fun?”

When Ian asked in a whisper, Vermouth’s eyes crinkled into a smile as he replied.

“It is fun.”

“Really?”

“Yes. To be precise, the current situation is more interesting than the movie. I am happy because you are right by my side.”

Ian laughed at the honest remark.

“Thinking about it, you say cringey things without any hesitation.”

“I do not understand why expressing one’s heart should be a matter of embarrassment.”

“This world is just like that.”

Ian now openly took Vermouth’s hand. With his other hand, he picked up the popcorn he had barely touched after ordering. It seemed he had been nervous despite acting otherwise. Part of it was because Vermouth was such a madman that Ian feared he might run wild, and another part was because this kind of atmosphere was a first for him.

As he chewed and swallowed the popcorn efficiently, he tasted the savory flavor. He burst into laughter again at the straw that immediately approached his lips. Since Ian could only use one hand, it seemed Vermouth was trying to help him eat. So, Ian drank the cola and put some popcorn into Vermouth’s mouth as well.

“How is it?”

“It is savory and salty, quite delicious. Is it made from corn?”

“Yeah!”

In that way, the two watched the movie while feeding each other. From a certain point on, the footage was no longer boring.

“I could fight much better than that.”

Vermouth spoke, criticizing the protagonist’s fighting style as if it were pathetic. Knowing that was the truth, Ian nodded his head.

“I suppose so. Still, it’s not bad.”

“I feel the same way about that.”

It was a truly decent time.

“What’s the next schedule?”

“I have reserved a restaurant nearby.”

“Do we have to go by car?”

“The distance is short, so we can walk.”

“What should I do about feeling sorry for Yoon So-ra?”

“That is why I decided to repay her later.”

“In what way?”

“I decided to help her once, regardless of what the task is.”

That was quite a high price. If it was with help from Vermouth, the strongest in Lancia, one would be able to escape any emergency situation. Did he prepare today’s date so sincerely that he would promise something like that as a reward? Thinking of that made Ian’s heart flutter.

Was Vermouth really changing? Ian had accepted him partly because he felt there were no other options besides his brother and Vermouth. However, seeing him change like this felt quite good.

“What are we going to eat at the restaurant?”

“I am told that normally, people eat pasta.”

Come to think of it, Ian hadn’t eaten pasta many times either. He had been served some when visiting noble mansions in Lancia, but the taste was strangely lacking. It was likely because supplies had run low due to the long war.

“They say the bracken pasta is famous.”

“Bracken goes into pasta?”

When Ian leaned in curiously, Vermouth turned on his phone to show him a photo.

“It really does?”

Now he was curious about the taste. Meanwhile, the movie ended. Ian was about to get up when he realized their fingers were still intertwined. Considering the general gaze in Korea, one shouldn’t show the sight of same-sex partners holding hands to others, but.

‘What does it matter?’

He had seen countless lives perish before they could do what they wanted. It was better to do what one wanted to do rather than regret it later. Therefore, Ian walked out of the theater side by side while holding hands with Vermouth. He didn’t care what the gazes of the people seeing him were like.

After walking a short distance, they arrived at the restaurant and tasted the bracken pasta. Vermouth had a large appetite, so he added steak and other dishes to the order. He shared his portions with Ian, and it was fun to taste various things. The atmosphere continued to flow that way until they parted.

It was a surprisingly ordinary date.
