It was a moment when South Korea, or rather the entire world, was completely turned upside down by the unprecedented issues of the Saint’s independence and the recruitment of a priesthood.

“Whew. It’s over.”

Inside the Stigma exclusive VIP waiting room prepared at the back of the Press Center.

As soon as the heavy door closed, the face of the noble Saint who looked as if he would save the entire world melted away in an instant. Ian loosened his tightly fastened tie and buried himself in the sofa.

In the back of the waiting room, Choi Jae-heon, who had been waiting in advance, took his eyes off the monitor and slowly approached Ian. His expression was heavy and serious as usual.

“Good job, Ian. You perfectly succeeded in capturing the media’s attention.”

Choi Jae-heon tapped a file folder lying on the table and continued calmly.

“The procedures for leaving Stigma were all handled cleanly through the legal team this morning. As you said, if a religion is subordinate to a specific guild, it will invite public suspicion and blur the essence of salvation, so this is for the best. It will be much more persuasive to the public if you declare complete independence.”

“Thanks, Hyung. But aren’t you disappointed that I’m leaving the guild?”

At Ian’s question, Choi Jae-heon shook his head with a faint upward curve of his lips.

“All I want is for you to live safely and according to your own will. If the path you wish to take is to overturn the status quo of this world, I will lay the foundation with the power and capital I possess. There is no reason to be disappointed.”

It was an answer that reflected both the heavy responsibility of a guild leader and the deep affection for a younger brother who had been hurt because of him. Ian laughed pleasantly at that reliable response and picked up a bottle of mineral water from the table.

“It is a natural outcome.”

Vermouth, standing behind Ian, politely opened the cap of the water bottle and handed it over, adding in a voice filled with emotion.

“I sincerely congratulate you on finally standing tall as a complete representative of God. As the first sword of the Order, I will strictly establish the discipline of those who shall be called the priesthood.”

“What do you mean, discipline? Are you trying to build an army? They are precious talents who will work hard in dangerous Gates instead of me, so handle them gently.”

Ian took a sip of the water and lightly patted Vermouth’s shoulder. Everything was rolling along according to plan.

The public’s enthusiasm had reached its peak, and he had secured a reliable backing. Now, all that remained was the task of selecting competent and venomously determined workers, no, a priesthood, to realize his “honey sucking” retirement life.

“Hyung. You definitely expanded the website server, right? Quite a lot of people will flock there when it opens at midnight.”

“I mobilized the best team in the country and built it at a main server level. I also opened plenty of bypass servers in case of an emergency, so there won’t be any connection failures.”

Choi Jae-heon affirmed stoically.

It was a server invested with the information power and capital of the number one guild in South Korea. There was a reason he was so confident.

However, it did not take long for that confidence-filled certainty to be ruthlessly shattered.

At midnight that night.

The doors to the official website opened along with the announcement titled [Open Recruitment for the 1st Generation Priesthood of the Order of Regnasia].

“Uh…?”

“……”

In the Guild Leader’s office on the top floor of Stigma Headquarters. The expressions of Ian and Choi Jae-heon, who were peering into the laptop screen, stiffened simultaneously.

Three minutes had passed since midnight.

The loading icon that had been spinning in the center of the screen stopped, and soon a dry error message appeared over the white screen.

502 Bad Gateway: The server is not responding.

“…Hyung. You said it was main server level.”

“Wait a moment.”

Perplexity flickered across Choi Jae-heon’s stiff face. Just as he was about to call the IT team leader, the office intercom began to ring urgently. Choi Jae-heon picked up the receiver.

—Guild Leader! Both the main server and the bypass servers for the Order’s website have completely crashed!

“Exactly how many concurrent users are there for it to burst like this?”

At Choi Jae-heon’s low voice, the IT team leader on the other end of the line answered almost on the verge of tears.

—Within one minute of opening, the number of concurrent users surpassed 5 million. This is not a level of traffic we can physically endure!

“…Five million.”

The brow of Choi Jae-heon, who never lost his composure, furrowed. Ian’s eyes also went wide.
