The Saint Wants to Rest - Chapter 70.2
“Th–-then will you bestow that miracle of yours upon us now?”
“No? Not yet.”
Choi Ian shook his head firmly. At the unexpected answer, the expressions of the two men stiffened.
Choi Ian gave a smirk and continued.
“The Goddess our Order of Regnasia serves is the Goddess of ‘War and Benevolence.’ To receive benevolence, one must first possess a sturdy body capable of surviving a hellish battlefield.”
Choi Ian lightly tapped his own chest with his finger.
“Right spirits and a steadfast divine power dwell within a healthy and sturdy physical body. For an empty body without a mana circuit to fully contain divine power, it will be difficult to endure with the weak bodies you currently possess.”
With an elegant gesture, Choi Ian pointed to the Holy Knight standing behind him. Vermouth took a step forward, his chilly eyes gleaming.
“Therefore, for the time being, this person will put you through the wringer. Endure the pain of muscles tearing and bones being ground to complete the ‘vessel’ that will hold the divine power. Bestowing the power comes only after that. Of course, I will heal your physical wounds beforehand.”
One must be healthy to be pushed to the absolute limit.
Vermouth smiled coldly as he looked at the two men.
“I shall mold you into excellent followers of Lady Regnasia. I will announce the location and date on the day all successful candidates have been determined.”
Despite the notice of hellish training, the fighting spirit dwelling in the eyes of Park Dong-ho and Kim Cheol-su did not fade.

Late at night, after the first round of interviews for the Order had concluded.
Ian approached the car waiting in the parking lot while massaging the throbbing back of his neck. However, the driver was nowhere to be seen.
“Hmm?”
In the moment he felt perplexed by the absence of a driver, Vermouth appeared. He naturally opened the passenger door to let Ian in and then sat in the driver’s seat.
“Wait, wait! You don’t have a driver’s license!”
“I obtained one.”
“When?”
Ian’s eyes went wide with surprise.
“It has been about a week.”
Is it really okay to ride in a car driven by someone who has only had their license for a week? Ian hesitated for a moment but soon decided to trust Vermouth. Since he was good at anything involving his body, driving would likely be the same. And Vermouth did not disappoint his expectations.
“By the way, where are we going?”
“We are going to my house.”
“Your house?”
Originally, Vermouth had been staying at a hotel. To suddenly mention a house was unexpected.
“I recently acquired a new one.”
Vermouth, answering nonchalantly, drove the car down an unfamiliar road. No, Ian hadn’t even said he would go to his house yet. Moreover, he felt uneasy about his brother, whom he had left behind. His brother would surely be expecting Ian to come back to their home.
He thought about contacting him, but felt that if he did, his brother might fly into a rage and rush over immediately. Ultimately, Ian put his phone back in his pocket, thinking he would tell him later. The house they arrived at was a two story dwelling with a small garden.
Given his personality, Ian thought he would have bought a massive mansion. Looking at the house with questioning eyes, something suddenly came to mind. This house felt slightly similar to the original home where Ian used to live with his brother.
“Please, enter.”
Following Vermouth, who escorted him naturally, he stepped into the house. Passing through the garden and entering the home, the first thing he saw was a charmingly decorated living room. There were no marble decorations or extravagant chandeliers, but he liked this better.
“If you have a seat on the sofa, I will bring some tea.”
Ian sat on the sofa as Vermouth instructed and looked around. Then, seeing the tea he brought out, he let out a small laugh. It was because the two teacups containing the tea were identical, like twins.
“Was this on purpose?”
“It was on purpose,” Vermouth answered calmly.
Rather than looking after his own tastes, he was trying to match Ian’s. That fact made Ian’s heart flutter, as it seemed to speak to how much their relationship had changed.
“Just this?”
“No. There is more.”
“What else is there?”
“Pajamas, a toothbrush, slippers, and a rice bowl.”
At the endless list of items, Ian nearly spat his tea back out.
“Wasn’t this your house?”
He didn’t know why all of his belongings were already prepared there.
“My house is also your house, Lord Ian. Besides, are we not a couple now? I heard that couples often stay at each other’s houses.”
The way he said it was quite sly. Ian never imagined he would end up thinking such a thing while looking at Vermouth.
