He had mentioned that he would help sell them, but this was shaping up to be even more profitable than expected. It was an item that could identify the Demon Race, yet it had a fixed expiration date. Considering the current state of public anxiety, everyone would likely want to own at least one.

“Ian, you are going to be rich.”

At those words, Ian opened his eyes wide and looked at Yoon Tae-gyeom. Taking advantage of a moment when others were not looking, Yoon Tae-gyeom stroked Ian’s hair.

“Leave it to me.”

What Ian was doing was also for the sake of the country.

“But hyung, let’s distribute them for free first to the Hunters and soldiers bleeding on the front lines. Word needs to spread anyway, and the performance needs to be verified.”

“Giving them away for free is good, but there must be something we can extract from the government by using that as leverage.”

“You handle that part as you see fit, hyung.”

“Aren’t you trusting me a bit too much?”

“It is you, Tae-gyeom hyung, after all.”

Yoon Tae-gyeom was pleased by Ian’s trust.

“And I will sell them to the general public for money as well.”

There is no salvation in this world obtained for free. Especially for Ian’s peaceful retirement, a vast amount of money was needed immediately. Although Choi Jae-heon had lent some money, using that to maintain a religious order was out of the question. The order had to earn money on its own.

“If you distribute them for free, people actually won’t trust them. Usually, it is only when they pay a high price to buy something that they think, ‘Ah, this truly has an effect,’ and carry it preciously in their hearts like a talisman.”

While Ian was speaking to Yoon Tae-gyeom, a voice cut in.

“Oh! That is an excellent mindset, Saint!”

Alexander Gray, who had approached after finishing his training, gave a big thumbs up.

“It will be difficult to handle the global demand with workshops alone. It just so happens that our Empire Guild has a state of the art metalworking factory under its wings! I will take responsibility for the mass production and sales in America and Europe through the Empire’s distribution network. How does a 7 to 3 profit split in favor of the order sound to you?”

“8 to 2.”

“Haha! Deal! As expected of the Saint!”

Alexander laughed cheerfully and immediately called his secretary, Sarah. It was the moment when capitalism and faith perfectly combined.

The capital and drive of the world’s number one guild transcended imagination. After a few days, tens of thousands of silver badges were piled up like mountains in a large warehouse.

Ian stood before the enormous quantity and let out a deep sigh. To think he had to coat all of those with Divine Power. It was not a miracle, but pure manual labor.

“Shall we begin?”

Ian spread his arms and closed his eyes. The dazzling white brilliance erupting from his body stretched out as if it would swallow the entire warehouse. A massive wave of light swept through the mounds of boxes, causing every single ordinary metal badge to absorb the holy energy.

Bestowing a blessing upon tens of thousands of items at once was a task that gnawed away at his immense concentration and vitality. By the time the light gradually faded, Ian’s face had turned deathly pale, and his entire body was drenched in sweat.

“Fuwa….”

Having finished coating even the last box, Ian breathed heavily and stumbled significantly. Just as he was about to collapse toward the floor, a large hand hurriedly wrapped around his waist. It was Vermouth.

“You have worked hard, Ian.”

Vermouth lightly picked up the exhausted Ian and laid him down on a plush sofa in the temporary rest area.

Unlike Mana, Divine Power was not a force that could be recklessly injected and refilled from the outside. Therefore, Vermouth volunteered to be a complete sanctuary and servant until Ian’s energy recovered on its own.

Vermouth used a warmed towel he had brought from somewhere to wipe the sweat from Ian’s forehead and his pale cheeks. Then, he began to firmly massage Ian’s stiff shoulders and aching lower back with his large, solid hands.

“Mmm.”

It was an unbelievably delicate and soft touch. As the muscles that had been hard with tension pleasantly loosened, a sensation of lethargy reaching his very bones made Ian let out a faint, sweet groan despite himself.

“You could do things like this too?”

At Ian’s mumble while half-closing his eyes, Vermouth whispered to him.

“For you, I can do anything. Now, shall we fill your stomach?”

To eat the appropriately warmed soup, Ian did not use his own hands. This was because Vermouth fed him personally. The savory taste of the soup spreading softly in his mouth and the large hand patting his back in a steady rhythm. In the face of that perfect and blind care, Ian drifted off to sleep.

1) The price paid for the laborers’ work.
