The Saint Wants to Rest - Chapter 81.1
Vladimir fell into a state of serious agony.
As a fan, it was only right to support the freedom of the object of one’s worship and feel pity when they were restrained by another. Yet, why did his heart race at the sight of Vermouth kneeling at Ian’s feet?
“Mikhail.”
Finally unable to endure it any longer, Vladimir called out to his executive secretary, Mikhail, who was standing quietly behind the sofa. Mikhail, who wore thick glasses on an expressionless face, was a loyal confidant who had perfectly assisted Vladimir with all practical affairs since their time in Russia.
“Yes, Boss.”
“I think I have gone mad.”
Vladimir covered his face with both hands and began to confess the wave of bizarre emotions he had experienced at the Order of Regnasia’s training ground and warehouse.
The person he liked had declared themselves to be in a relationship with another man, yet he was not angry. On the contrary, the sight of that man lying down obediently like a dog by the other’s side suited him so perfectly that it was even thrilling. Was he a disgusting traitor who had betrayed Sir Vermouth?
Mikhail, who had been silently listening to this serious and desperate confession, pushed up his glasses with his finger.
“Boss.”
“Yes. You may insult me. I have no right to…”
“Why would I insult you? This is something to be celebrated. You have finally opened your eyes to a world of a higher dimension.”
“What?”
As Vladimir lifted his head with a blank face, Mikhail cleared his throat and pulled a tablet from his coat. On the screen of the tablet, which usually only displayed documents, all sorts of subcultures and fandom cultures from Earth were organized in a clear, orderly fashion.
“Listen carefully, Boss. When you like someone passionately, there isn’t only the emotion of ‘parasocial romance’ where you hope to be united with the object. Appreciating and enjoying the ‘dynamic’ itself between two magnificent subjects is also a very long standing and noble genre of fandom.”
“A dynamic?”
“That is correct. Think about it. The composition of a powerful and absolute knight surrendering his leash and obeying only one person! This is a classic among classics, the ultimate narrative that drives countless fans wild!”
Mikhail’s voice gradually began to take on heat. The lecture from the hardcore otaku secretary, who had finally dropped his “normal person” act, struck Vladimir’s brain like a bolt of lightning.
“Therefore, Boss, you are not a traitor. You are merely a pioneer who was the first to witness a star that once shone alone evolve into a binary star system upon meeting a perfect universe. The two of them are a set. They shine brightest when they are together!”
“Ah…!”
Vladimir stood up abruptly from his seat. The fog that had been cluttering his mind cleared, and the truth spread out brightly before his eyes.
Yes. They were a perfect pair. To think he had dared to intervene between them to try and take the knight away, how foolish and ignorant of an act that had been!
“Thank you, Mikhail. Thanks to you, I have found the path I must walk.”
Vladimir’s blue eyes began to shine intensely like a fanatic who had found a new faith.

The temporary headquarters of the Order.
Ian was sitting on the office sofa reviewing documents. Vermouth was standing behind Ian, looking down at him as usual.
Ever since the declaration of their relationship yesterday, Vermouth’s attitude had become significantly more blatant. Even if Ian turned his head just a little, a gaze dripping with honey followed, and Vermouth tried to sneakily touch Ian’s fingertips or shoulders whenever there was an opening.
In that situation, news arrived that Vladimir was visiting.
“I thought the schedule was finished for now.”
Why on earth did he come again? Well, it wasn’t as if Ian didn’t have a guess. He surely came to approach Vermouth. These things happened when one’s lover was too outstanding.
How could he move Vladimir away from Vermouth entirely? Ian tapped his fingers against the desk.
*Knock, knock*
Soon, a light knocking sound was heard and the door opened.
“Greetings. Good morning.”
It was Vladimir. He was wearing a smile as bright and refreshing as the sun, making it hard to believe he was the same man who had stumbled back in a daze yesterday.
Furthermore, behind him, staff members wearing uniforms with the logo of a top tier five star hotel were carefully wheeling in carts set with magnificent silver trays and refreshments.
Vermouth’s eyes immediately narrowed fiercely.
“Showing that unpleasant face again. I will throw him out.”
“Wait. Something is a bit different today.”
