The Terminally Ill Hero’s Husband is the Demon King - Chapter 2.5
In the bathroom, there were three individual bathtubs and one large tub. Perhaps it had been treated with magic, but the floor had a structure like water-resistant porcelain. Therefore, spilling a little water did not seem likely to cause much trouble.
Even when two individual bathtubs were filled with water, Gillian did not think too deeply about it. It was when Gillian had taken off all his clothes, placed them on the shelf beside him, and put one leg into the bathtub without a single thread on his body.
Iber abruptly came in, greeted Gillian, then thrust the two drinks he was holding straight at him. Gillian accepted them in confusion.
“I didn’t take you for it, but you have a nice body. You’re good-looking, too.”
Iber looked Gillian over and said with a smile. Then Iber began hurriedly taking off his clothes. Gillian was extremely flustered.
They were men with the same thing attached, so there was no particular reason to be shy around each other. Even so, it was sudden to show his naked body to a man he had only just met, and sudden to see another man’s naked body as well. Gillian sat down in the bathtub and hid himself.
As if making his compliment of Gillian pale in comparison, Iber had a fine body. It was not merely good, but excellent enough that Gillian found himself observing it without realizing.
When Iber took off his outerwear and lifted the hem of his shirt, his back and stomach, wrapped in firm, lean muscle with no excess fat, were soon revealed. His shoulders were broad and reliable, and his arms, split with bulging veins, looked strong enough to beat down even an ox.
His taut thighs, which made the bathtub seem narrow, his lifted buttocks, his thick golden bush, and even the lump of flesh hanging beneath it were all splendid enough to satisfy anyone looking.
“I’m telling you this because I don’t want you to be shocked.”
“Ah, yes. Go on.”
Gillian snapped back to his senses. Although Iber had taken off all his clothes, he had not removed his hat or the towel covering the area below his nose. Did he perhaps have some great wound or scar on his face? Gillian looked at Iber’s eyes. Only then did he notice that the irises reflected in the flickering candlelight were a bright gold.
“Iber is my surname, and my real name is Rassel.”
If his name was the same as the founding king’s, then using his surname like a given name made sense.
“Rassel, interesting. My name is Gillian.”
“You have the same name as the famous hero. Are you… perhaps?”
“What are the chances of that? I’m in the same position as you, so I usually give people a nickname rather than my name. People tease me a great deal.”
When Gillian told people his name, they would not recognize him and would tease him, saying he had the same name as the hero Gillian.
“Black hair and blue eyes, too. Goodness, Lord Hero. Have a drink.”
“If you’re buying, I’ll accept gratefully.”
The people who teased him were even more shocked once they learned that he did not merely share the name Gillian, but was the same person as the hero Gillian.
“You’re really that Gillian? I never imagined that would be true!”
“I never deceived you. I told you I was that Gillian.”
“I thought you were joking. I didn’t know a hero could be this ordinary.”
“I’m ordinary?”
“Oh dear, I don’t mean it in a bad way. You’re good-looking and upright in character, but… for some reason, you’re easy to be around. How should I put it, you’re like the kind widower living next door…”
“I don’t live next door, but I am a kind widower.”
Rassel took off the hat and hood that had covered his face. The ordinary hero Gillian was startled. Rassel’s shining golden hair and handsome appearance were far too extraordinary for an ordinary hunter to possess. He looked convincing enough that one might believe he was a mountain God or spirit wearing a human form.
“What do you think? Surprised, aren’t you?”
Rassel put his hands on his waist and moved his body as if showing off as he asked. Each time Rassel moved and struck a pose, Gillian felt a sense of déjà vu. He had seen this sight somewhere before.
Gillian soon recalled the illustrations of Rasselas that appeared in stories about the founding king. Rassel seemed as if he had leapt out of a book. Gillian forgot that Rassel was naked and observed him.
