It was difficult to accept everything that had happened, and it was also painful. The world was cruel.

It would have been better to live without ever knowing about reincarnation.

If only he hadn’t remembered his past life, things might have been different. But if that were the case, Leslun would have died at Kailos’s hands, and Kailos would have met a miserable end without any chance of redemption.

Leslun’s memories cruelly revealed the harsh truth. If Kailos hadn’t known about his lonely death and the fact that his first love had set him on that path, perhaps his heart would have been filled with happiness in this moment.

But he wasn’t sure. The memories had also allowed him to be with Kailos, so they were a reality he couldn’t deny.

Kailos stroked Leslun’s cheek.

“You should see this for yourself,” Kailos said, opening his palm to reveal a transparent, glistening substance with faint traces of something else.

“I want to see you come again,” he murmured, licking his lips.

He wanted to taste something hot instead of something that was cooling down.

Kailos gently caressed Leslun, soothing him, before moving his hips again. Even as the carriage approached the villa, Kailos continued to thrust into him.

***

Leslun forced his eyes open, though they were swollen from crying and barely open. As long as he could see straight ahead, that was enough.

His body felt foreign as he sat up in bed, like a heavy stone. That’s when he realized the arm that had fallen across his body belonged to Kailos, who had fallen asleep holding him.

Leslun turned to look at Kailos, who was in a deep sleep. Kailos had held him tightly until the carriage stopped and even after they arrived at the villa. Leslun couldn’t remember how many times Kailos had made him come, teasing his sensitive insides and positioning him to take him from behind.

Only when Leslun was completely spent did Kailos fill his belly with his seed and finish. Leslun, who had collapsed first, was the one to wake up earlier.

The reason was Silver. The kingdom’s guardian bird had awakened Leslun.

Leslun approached the window and pulled back the curtain. A massive hawk perched on the windowsill—Silver.

[Have you made your decision? Vancor is waiting for you,]

Leslun met its gaze, reflecting on the answers he had considered. After a moment, a response came to him that he hadn’t expected.

“I’m his first love,”

Finally releasing the emotions he had suppressed.

The sweet words made him both happy and sad.

“But I shouldn’t be. I know how cruel he becomes when he loses his first love,” Leslun thought, remembering the young Prince Cassian from the novel.

If Cassian’s first love hadn’t arrived yet, couldn’t he enjoy this happiness for a little longer? Leslun hoped that person would arrive as late as possible.

He hadn’t considered when the Crown Prince would fall in love, nor had he imagined it would be with him. Leslun had only wished for something impossible.

“I will survive,” Leslun said, realizing that fate had a momentum of its own. Just when he thought he had escaped far enough, it would snap him back faster than expected.

Silver was right. He could destroy the Crown Prince, but because he was Leslun, he could also alter the course of the Crown Prince’s destined path.

Blue had said so, and as the guardian closest to fate, his words held no falsehood.

Originally, the novel hadn’t indicated that Leslun would be Cassian’s first love. Someone else was supposed to hold that place, but Leslun had forced his way in with his own will.

“I… please help me leave. I’m going to the prince’s side,” Leslun requested, knowing that running away now would only take him so far. He needed Silver’s help.

[Close your eyes,] Silver instructed, and Leslun obeyed.

He felt something rising within him. His heavy body grew light, and the numbness in his limbs began to fade.

Based on his experiences and the original story, Leslun understood that Blue possessed psychic abilities, while Silver had physical ones. Silver could enhance or drain the life force of a body, causing the mind to momentarily blur.

Leslun clenched and unclenched his fist, feeling the pain disappear and his body become lighter. But his mood didn’t improve.

[Come with me,] Silver said, and before following, Leslun approached the bed. He looked at Kailos, who slept like an angel.

“I love you,” Leslun confessed his true feelings.

“My first love is you, Your Highness,” he said, though he wished he had more to say. But those were the only words he could offer.

Slowly, Leslun turned and left the room. When he exited the villa, Leslun wrapped himself in a cloak. Above him, a hawk soared through the sky.
