“Barging in like this—what exactly are you demanding?”

Cal responded without so much as twitching an eyebrow. His tone implied that he had nothing to hand over, and Count Robert Camilo’s face contorted even more viciously.

“I know you took the medicine that Young Count Brian gave. I am asking you to return it, even now.”

“Oh, that?”

As if he had only just remembered, Cal nodded. Then he spoke with shameless ease.

“I merely picked up what the Count had dropped.”

The corner of his mouth lifted slightly, his voice carrying no hint of hesitation. For him to make such an excuse left Count Camilo looking utterly dumbfounded.

“Do you even know what that is, handling it so recklessly? I only kept it because I feared there would be trouble if my elder brother found out—but you push forward like this.”

“Kept it? Ha…”

Camilo let out a laugh that sounded almost absurd.

“You used it, didn’t you?”

“Well now, I’m not sure what you mean.”

“I saw Leslun under the influence of that drug.”

Camilo replied firmly, as if denial would be pointless. He had discovered it while seeking an opportunity to approach Leslun under the pretext of the banquet.

To think the man not only dared to steal the drug, but also lied about it. Rage boiled up in Camilo until he thought he might die from it.

“Do you have any idea what you’ve done?”

“What I’ve done? I merely picked up what you—”

“Please do tell Count Brian exactly that. That I had no fault whatsoever in this matter.”

When he first received the drug, Count Camilo had been confident that his plan would succeed, but now he drew a clear line. Even as Cal’s face hardened, Camilo did not back down.

Their intentions to trouble the Crown Prince were roughly similar, but in this moment, it had become as if they were pointing blades at each other. An awkward situation indeed, yet Count Camilo left at once.

At first, Cal’s expression had been relatively composed, but now his brow twisted. Just the thought that his elder brother would inevitably come to know of this made his insides feel in turmoil.

“From now on, find out everything you can about Leslun.”

“Huh? Weren’t you pulling out of this?”

His friend asked curiously, but upon seeing Cal’s face harden, he shut his mouth.

‘The drug’s effect… has it worn off?’

Breathing out slowly, Leslun realized that the heat that had dominated him was subsiding. The pulse that had throbbed so wildly, the sensations that had made his whole body tremble, were gradually fading.

At first, he thought it was nothing but simple heat.

Something inside him had risen like a slow boil, and even the slightest brush left his spine tingling.

Whenever Kailos’s touch grazed his skin, he felt the strange illusion that his heart was pounding just beneath the surface. The fingers that dug into him were not merely intruding—they struck each sensation one by one, igniting them into explosions.

‘All of this… it’s all my first time experiencing it.’

Even his own voice sounded unfamiliar to him. Thin, trembling tones, breathing that he could not control.

And beyond his blurred vision, the gaze of Kailos… all of it was unfamiliar.

Everything about it felt like an experience that had broken him.

‘That I…’

Had shared intimacy with Kailos.

He could hardly believe it, yet it was impossible to deny.

Every bit of it remained vividly etched into his memory.

That, contrary to his will to resist, his body had continually wanted him.

Now, even the pleasure that had lingered was fading, leaving only a trace of heat in his very bones.

Even if he tried to dismiss all the ecstasy he felt while accepting Kailos as nothing more than the drug’s effect, he knew better than anyone else that it was not so.

Leslun let out a sigh, tinged with bitterness.

At first, he had been overwhelmed with shock. To feel desire for someone he had never once imagined—his surprise grew so great that, in the end, he had deliberately pulled away.

Even when the Crown Prince tried to kiss him, and even in that moment beneath the crimson curtains of the bed when their closeness had sharpened abruptly, in the end, nothing happened.

So he had grown a little careless, in truth.

Until now, he thought he was nothing more than a toy that reacted whenever touched by him.

That gave him relief, but also left a sense of regret. He forced himself to feign ignorance toward that sincerity.
