The moment, the air in the dining room sank coldly. Seong Mi-na bent a spoon into a V-shape due to putting strength into her hand without realizing it. Ryu Seo-ho lifted his hips off his chair, thinking that if the worst came to worst, he would snatch Min-ha away and flee to a safe place. Seorang also opened his eyes wide and prepared to activate his ability.

“You want to leave?”

Is Min-ha saying right now that he wants to leave Baek Seok-gyol’s side? His emotions moved like the weather of a capricious sea. Before he knew it, his anxious feelings were turning into anger.

Baek Seok-gyol’s violet pupils grew chilling. He did not want to send Min-ha to somewhere else. His insides twisted whenever he imagined him living happily in a place where he wasn’t around. Come to think of it, wasn’t there a dog of the Management Bureau chasing after him?

According to the information Ma Jin-cheol had delivered, the two of them were friends who had been in the same facility during their childhood. They had parted ways even before entering elementary school, it was said. Who on earth eagerly searches for a childhood friend who parted ways back then like this?

‘Shall I just kill him?’

He wanted to kill Kang Sa-hyeok and lay out his corpse in pieces before Min-ha. Usually, because he hated seeing blood, he mainly chose methods that compressed and killed, but sometimes choosing a different method might be all right.

Yes, let’s kill him. The moment he thought that, Ma Jin-cheol exquisitely intervened.

“It seems you want to go on a date.”

At the out-of-nowhere choice of words, the eyes of the villains in the dining room turned peculiar. Seeing the way Min-ha usually acted, it seemed like he was dull to other people’s emotions, but that wasn’t the case. All of this was a defense mechanism forged from a young age, and in reality, he was quite quick-witted.

No, even if he were someone truly lacking in wit, there was no way he couldn’t tell how dangerous the current situation was. Because an aura sharp enough to make one’s skin sting was pricking at his entire body.

Grateful to Ma Jin-cheol for providing assistance, Min-ha opened his mouth briskly.

“Yes, yes! A date!”

In an instant, Baek Seok-gyol returned to his usual appearance.

“A date?”

He too had heard that word a few times before. Wasn’t it something people who held mutual affection for one another did to solidify their relationship?

“Originally, espers and guides go on dates during the process of adapting to each other. They do that even at the training center under the Management Bureau. Though they are dog-like bastards, aren’t those fellows good at pulling out such data?”

“That’s true.”

“Therefore, please go on a date. While you are at it, it would also be good to pick out a hat together. Mr. Lee Min-ha, is there any place you usually thought you wanted to visit?”

“Gamheung-ri.”

At those words, Ma Jin-cheol barely managed to suppress the urge to bite his tongue.

“How about Jongno or Insadong?”

“Gamheung-ri. I want to go there and pack up some of my luggage. And I need to say hello to the kids who used to make meals for me every day, too.”

With creaking body movements, Ma Jin-cheol turned his head to look at Baek Seok-gyol, but this time he did not get angry.

“Is that place enough?”

At the rather affectionate question, Min-ha opened his eyes wide in a circle.

“Yes!”

“Then should we drop by there and go to Jongno or Insadong?”

In truth, Baek Seok-gyol didn’t know what was in Jongno or Insadong either. He had simply repeated the choices Ma Jin-cheol had put forward.

“Isn’t the distance far?”

At Min-ha’s question, Baek Seok-gyol tilted his head toward Ma Jin-cheol.

“Please don’t worry. I can transport you there. But if possible, how about Insadong?”

There was one safehouse of ZERO there that was good for opening a port. There was one in Jongno too, but since it was a neighborhood crowded with people even on weekdays, Insadong was better. Figuring the situation looked urgent for now, Ma Jin-cheol just blurted out whatever came to mind.

“What is there in Insadong?”

“There are traditional foods and tea houses. On top of that, the fun of browsing traditional souvenirs will be quite worthwhile.”

“That’s right! The dragon’s beard candy there is delicious!”

Seong Mi-na and Ryu Seo-ho promptly stepped out to provide backup support.

“I recommend trying shaved ice. The matcha red bean shaved ice is delicious.”

“In this winter?”

“Isn’t that something for you to say, considering you polished off five bowls of shaved ice a day last winter?”

Bickering moderately with Seong Mi-na, Ryu Seo-ho sat down comfortably again.
