Transmigrated as the Side Top used as an Emotional Trash Can - Chapter 20.1
“Fu, cking-.”
Kim Jihwan gritted his teeth and swore when he saw my flustered expression. Then he violently threw the gym uniform onto the floor and quickly walked out into the hallway as though fleeing.
“Uh, um…! Jihwan! Where are you going!”
I stood there blankly for a moment, then caught up to Kim Jihwan and forced him to take my gym uniform before sending him to physical education class. I considered reporting it to the police, but I couldn’t bring myself to do so because Kim Jihwan might genuinely clutch the back of his neck and collapse if I did.
“How dare someone mess with Jihwan?”
I decided I had to find the culprit, even if I had to do it privately. Someone who did something this insidious wouldn’t stop after one or two times. Bullying that went unpunished often escalated into horrific violence. From experience, it was better for one’s life not to go through such things.
I observed Kim Jihwan all day to find the culprit. Rather than sticking close to him as usual, I stayed one step away and tried to focus more on what was happening around him.
Kim Jihwan was a diligent student, but he lacked finesse. He didn’t doze off during class, but he couldn’t simply move past something he didn’t understand. He was the type to get stuck struggling with it while the class continued, even though he could have listened first and asked questions later. Kim Jihwan studying hard. Cute.
“Kim Jihwan, did you finish all the research for the performance assessment?”
“Yeah, I sent it.”
When break time came, Kim Jihwan talked with his diligent friends about things like performance assessments. During breaks, Kim Jihwan usually lay facedown and listened to music or did his academy homework. Kim Jihwan making full use of all ten minutes. Admirable.
“Oh my, aren’t you adorable, my baby-.”
I had clearly been watching him to catch the culprit, yet at some point, I had become a parent observing his child on parents’ visitation day.
“Good grief, I keep looking only at Jihwan. I need to watch the people around him….”
I could hear my confidently begun stakeout collapsing. I had no professional knowledge, and whenever Kim Jihwan was in front of me, I unconsciously focused only on him. I really did feel like I became an idiot whenever Kim Jihwan was around.
“Snow White! There you are?”
While I was engaging in this not-quite-voyeurism, a student approached and called me Snow White.
“Ah… Do I really have to be Snow White?”
I asked back with a slightly disgusted expression.
For the school festival in July, our Class 1-2 had decided to combine with Class 4 and perform onstage instead of running a booth. Unfortunately, because my surname began with Baek, I had been suggested for the role of Snow White.
(T/N: His name ‘Baek’ means ‘white’ and is part of the Korean name for ‘Snow White,’ too.)
The way it had been decided was ridiculous too.
“Then you shouldn’t have been sleeping when we assigned the roles.”
It was unfair enough that I had been targeted because of my name. The guys were even acting as though I had agreed simply because I had slept through the discussion, making me want to file a national petition in protest.
“Do you guys seriously want to see me dressed as a woman?”
“Yeah- It sounds fucking hilarious-!”
Seeing them completely ignore what I said and laugh because they thought it would be funny made me sigh. When boys at an all-boys high school dressed as women, it wasn’t a beautiful exchange of makeup techniques. It was a competition to see who could look more ridiculous, like a bunch of clowns. Because of that, I didn’t think it would become a particularly fond memory.
“Or make Kim Jihwan do it. He might agree because you’re friends?”
“Ah, if you’re going to make Jihwan do it, I’ll do it myself.”
A main-bottom cross-dressing event? He was already being targeted by some weirdo pervert. There was no doubt every kind of pervert imaginable would flock to him.
“Anyway, this class is self-study, so they told you to come practice. We already got permission.”
The guy pushed me from behind, and I reluctantly headed toward the main auditorium.

“Are these lines seriously acceptable?”
“What, do you have a problem?”
With the help of sunbaes from the Drama Club, which I hadn’t even known existed at the school, we set up the lighting and even had the script revised. But the quality of the Snow White script was appalling.
[Snow White: Please kiss me♥ Aing~]
“‘Please kiss me♥ Aing~’? Snow White seriously has a line like this?”
If it did, then I had clearly lived my life wrong. Either that, or I had received an incorrect Korean education.
“It has to be entertaining, or no one will watch.”
“It’ll be entertaining for the audience, but I’m the one who has to say this, you know? And why are the dwarfs saying things like kimochiii and oh yeeeah? It sounds like low-quality comments from an internet broadcast.”
