Transmigrated as the Side Top used as an Emotional Trash Can - Chapter 33.1
Cha Gwonhyeok stiffened slightly at my sharp words.
Then he soon returned to his usual self.
“You don’t want Byeongjun to be punished?”
“I can endure it. But Byeongjun won’t be able to.”
That was the conclusion I had reached. I could handle it. Because I came back to life. But if Kim Byeongjun died, he would simply be dead. He couldn’t even dream of coming back to life.
Cha Gwonhyeok fell silent once again at my answer. His eyes grew distant as though he were thinking about something, then he finally opened his mouth.
“…Do you have some kind of illness?”
“Huh?”
I made a stupid sound in response to Cha Gwonhyeok’s out-of-the-blue question.
“Like a good child complex, or maybe half your amygdala is dead.”
Cha Gwonhyeok asked with complete seriousness. For some reason, his expression made me laugh. You don’t know what kind of situation I’m going through, do you? You don’t know how many times I’ve died either.
“That’s right. My head is actually broken. I’m not normal.”
Cha Gwonhyeok looked at me as though trying to assess me. I avoided his gaze and looked toward the window where Kim Jihwan was standing.
“There’s nothing inside my head but our Jihwan-ie-.”
I deliberately spoke more lightly, as though it were a joke. But Cha Gwonhyeok didn’t respond to my words. I didn’t bother turning my head to check his reaction either.
Once the crowd of students began to thin out slightly, I quickly stepped down from the tops of Cha Gwonhyeok’s feet.
“It was a joke, Gwonhyeok-ah.”
I ran over to Kim Jihwan.
I pushed a straw into the strawberry milk and handed it to Kim Jihwan. He complained, but obediently drank it anyway. The sight was so admirable that a smile naturally spread across my face. My baby eats so well.
The July summer sky was beyond blue, so dark and vivid that it was just like Kim Jihwan’s nasty disposition.
“Why would I go to your swimming competition? Fuck off, I have to go to the academy.”
That was because I had gone to his house early on the weekend morning and asked him to come to the swimming competition, only for him to completely ignore me and head straight to the academy. I didn’t remember him being this obsessed with studying.
“What kind of academy holds classes on the weekend? You’re only a first-year….”
I grumbled as I boarded a city bus to travel to the venue where the swimming competition was being held.
“I should’ve said I’d ride the bus with them too.”
Normally, I would have traveled on the same chartered bus as the other Swimming Club members. But I had sent them ahead because I had naturally assumed Kim Jihwan would come with me, so I had no choice but to travel alone.
“Haah… There was no way Jihwan would obediently come with me….”
Whenever I mentioned the swimming competition, he quietly listened, so I had naturally assumed he would come. But he waited until the morning of the competition to tell me he wasn’t going. His personality was truly impressive.
“I raised him myself, but wow, he grew up wonderfully nasty.”
I watched the scenery outside the window for a while as the bus rattled along, then put in my earphones and closed my eyes. Just as I was drifting through the haze of unconsciousness, the man sitting beside me spoke.
“–, -?”
“Pardon?”
I couldn’t hear him because of my earphones, so I removed one side and politely asked again.
“I’m sorry. Could you say that again?”
“Ah, I asked whether you attend ○○ High School.”
“Yes, I do.”
“Don’t you check the chat?”
The chat?
What chat was he talking about? My mind went blank for a moment, then I suddenly remembered what Jihyeok-hyung had told me.
“Huh? Where are you going!”
I sprang from my seat, pressed the stop button, and tapped my bus card. The man rose as though he intended to get off with me. I spoke to him in a slightly raised voice.
“Someone stole my photos. I really am a high school student, so what were you planning to do with a minor?”
Someone had stolen my photos and used them on a gay dating app. If Jihyeok-hyung hadn’t told me, I might never have found out.
‘It’s an app that not just anyone can join, so the fact that your photo was posted there means the culprit is almost certainly gay.’
Jihyeok-hyung had offered a tentative guess about the culprit. When I examined the profile of the account using my photos, the writing style was so similar to mine that I wondered whether I had really written it myself. Even the height, weight, and things I liked all matched.
‘For it to be this detailed… they either like you, or they like you so much that they hate you. No one could write this much out of a simple feeling.’
Honestly, I hadn’t wanted to make a major issue out of the stolen photos alone. But I truly couldn’t tolerate the sleazy profile message that made it sound as though I would meet anyone as long as they paid me. I had reported it to the police and was waiting for the results. This was the first time in my life I had ever been harassed in this way.
