Transmigrated as the Side Top used as an Emotional Trash Can - Chapter 34.2
“Hungo-ah, I love you, I like you!”
Daily Quest: Say ‘I like you’ (3/10)
“Chunbeom-ah, I love you, I like you!”
Daily Quest: Say ‘I like you’ (4/10)
“Cha Gwonhyeok, I lo- Kyaaagh…!”
As I recklessly threw around I love yous and I like yous like a burst dam, Kim Jihwan raised a finger and jabbed me in the eyeball.
“If something’s wrong with your head, take some fucking medicine, you idiot.”
“Jihwan-ah, that was a good attack. If you’re going to throw soft punches, you might as well stab someone in the eye instead.”
With tears streaming from both eyes, I gave Jihwan a thumbs-up for his improved offensive power. More importantly, the moment I tried to tell Cha Gwonhyeok I liked him, he immediately poked me in the eye. Was he jealous? Well, Cha Gwonhyeok was his future husband, so this level of jealousy was rather cute.
“I won’t say it to Gwonhyeok, so don’t worry.”
I spoke as though reassuring Kim Jihwan. Kim Jihwan walked ahead without appearing to listen to me.
“Then who else should I try it on?”
I swept my gaze across the countless male students in the hallway. Every passing guy looked like experience points. It was great because it was so easy.
“Teacher, I love you! I respect you!”
“Sure-.”
Daily Quest: Say ‘I like you’ (9/10)
When speaking to a teacher, ‘I respect you’ sounded more natural than ‘I like you,’ so I had subtly substituted it. The system mercilessly refused to count it. Well, it was fine. I just had to grab any random guy and say it.
“Now I only have to say I like you one more time….”
I looked around for another sacrifice, then suddenly wondered whether it might work on something that wasn’t human. I approached a fairly large traveler’s palm in a pot placed along one side of the hallway. It had a fertilizer supplement stuck into the soil, so it didn’t seem to be artificial.
“Hey, I like you.”
Daily Quest: Say ‘I like you’ (10/10)
It worked.
So it worked even if the target wasn’t human. In that case, this daily quest had become even easier.
“What’s gotten into you, System-.”
As I grinned to myself, another system window appeared before my eyes.
Random Reward
Random reward?
Before I could dwell on the question, a palm-sized puff of pink cloud burst into existence in midair. I saw an object inside and caught it with both hands. A small gift box landed on my palms.
I opened it with anticipation.
Ah, of course. I knew it had seemed too easy. Still, since it was a ‘daily quest,’ there would probably be another one tomorrow, right? I hoped I would get something good tomorrow.
“Hello, Hanrim-ah.”
Just as I was feeling disappointed by the ‘dud’ random reward, someone approached and spoke to me.
“I would like to talk with you, Hanrim. Would that be alright?”
She seemed to be an outsider rather than a teacher from our school. She was wearing guest slippers and had a handbag tucked beneath her arm. Sweat had gathered at the nape of her neck, as though she had come in from outside instead of from the cool teachers’ office.
“I’m not trying to scold you, so don’t worry too much.”
I tried to guess the identity of the teacher who had approached me. An outsider, the title she used to refer to herself, and her attitude as though she knew me. Right, she had been dispatched by the Office of Education to investigate the school violence case. The answer came easily.
“Yes, that’s fine.”
I readily agreed and followed the teacher. We walked around the school grounds, then sat on a cool bench beneath the shade of a tree beside the flower bed.
“Mm… I’m not actually supposed to approach you this openly.”
“Why?”
I widened my eyes innocently and acted as though I truly didn’t know. If she realized I had already figured her out, I would only appear calculating.
“Because the School Violence Committee has to maintain a neutral position. That’s why I was dispatched from the Office of Education.”
“Ah, you’re from the Office of Education….”
The teacher dispatched from the Office of Education gave me a brief introduction, explained the situation, and exchanged several more formal greetings.
I merely acted obediently. I answered whatever she asked and smiled as though I were harmless. I had been very accustomed to obeying adults since my previous life, and the belief that this was how I had to behave when there was a problem had been embedded somewhere deep inside my mind.
