Arden and Haster subdued the men who drew their swords in an instant.

Rather than a battle, it was such a trivial affair that drawing their swords seemed almost pointless. It was closer to a minor disturbance.

The woman, who had remained hidden in a safe place throughout the fight, hurried out as soon as the men fell. She took Arden and Haster by the hands, bowed her head, and thanked them for saving her.

Arden carefully examined the woman as she expressed her gratitude.

She looked like a fairy from a myth.

Her smooth honey-blond hair fell to her waist, and her sapphire-blue eyes were clear and transparent.

Her rosy cheeks accentuated her loveliness.

With beauty like this, wouldn’t she be able to captivate even the taciturn Haster?

Entertaining the idle thought, Arden glanced sideways at the man beside him.

His cousin still wore an expression like solid ice.

Because of that, Arden couldn’t tell what he was thinking, but unlike usual, Haster neither shook off her hand nor spoke in a stiff voice.

Seeing him quietly stare at her instead, it seemed he had developed a slight interest in her.

The corners of Arden’s lips rose slightly.

Regardless of her age, she was the first woman to make his cousin feel anything at all, whether it was curiosity or goodwill.

So, motivated by curiosity and goodwill rather than a sense of justice, he asked her to explain the situation in detail.

However, the woman’s response was so lukewarm that it left them bewildered.

“No, I’ll tell you about that when we meet again later…. Where’s the main road? I’m in a hurry right now.”

“W-What……?”

At the unexpected response, Arden’s and Haster’s expressions cracked.

Apparently frustrated that they weren’t answering quickly enough, the woman stamped her feet and pressed them in an even louder voice.

“The main road! The main road around here! WHERE IS IIIITTT?!”

The woman’s voice shook the entire forest.

It was a mystery how such a small body could conceal such a powerful set of lungs.

She had the makings of a general.

When Arden pointed toward the path they had come from with a dazed expression, the woman left only a brief word of thanks before running off.

“Ah, shit!”

“…….”

“…….”

Then, after running some distance, she stopped and even hurled the shoes she had been wearing onto the ground, apparently because her feet hurt.

The two men only managed to speak after the woman had disappeared from sight.

“……I think she just said, ‘Ah, shit!’ Did I hear wrong?”

“……Young people these days must be very direct about expressing their emotions.”

“She has a…… well… lively personality.”

“…….”

He was genuinely curious about what kind of parents had raised her, and not as an insult, but he chose not to say it aloud.

She had left such a powerful impression for someone they had only briefly crossed paths with that he merely had a feeling it would be entertaining if they met again.

‘But she looked familiar. I feel like I’ve seen her somewhere before.’

Arden’s curiosity was soon resolved.

Just as the woman had said they would meet again, they encountered the beauty with long honey-blond hair and jewel-like blue eyes once more on the main road.

The only difference was that the woman who had tearfully begged them for help while being chased by suspicious men was now confronting the guards while swinging a gold necklace set with a ruby the size of a walnut like a sling.

“Hey! Do you know who I am? You’re all going to be in big trouble if you don’t move! I remember every one of your faces! Got it?”

Arden stared blankly at the woman locked in a battle of nerves with the soldiers.

A fairy? He took that back.

She wasn’t a fairy. She looked more like someone who would load a fairy into a sling instead of a stone and hurl it.

He couldn’t understand where the pitiful girl they had rescued earlier had gone or why some thug had appeared in her place.

“Where did you get that necklace?”

At some point, the Emperor had stepped down from his carriage, and he raised his voice with a bewildered expression.

At the Emperor’s appearance, the girl who had been vigorously spinning the necklace suddenly dropped to her knees and shouted toward him.

“Your Majesty! My name is Clary Lurie, and I am Your Majesty’s granddaughter! My late mother left this necklace to me. My mother’s name was Anaris Fairtrach. My father was Baron Clyde Lurie.”

For a moment, Arden felt as though he had been struck hard.

His sense that she looked familiar hadn’t been an illusion.

The woman looked exactly like his blood relative from whom he had been separated in childhood.

The Emperor staggered one or two steps backward in shock, then hurriedly pulled the girl into his arms like a mother bird enfolding a lost chick beneath its wings.

His hands traced the face of the woman claiming to be his granddaughter as though he still couldn’t believe it, and he murmured in a voice mixed with joy and sorrow.

“You look just like your mother…….”

Normally, Arden would have teased Haster by saying, ‘If you’d stayed holed up in your castle, you would’ve missed such an entertaining sight,’ but even the great Arden couldn’t do so in the face of this sudden melodrama.

‘Sister? Is she really my older sister’s daughter?’

One day, out of nowhere, he had gained a niece.
